It's not exactly easy, but it is very possible. If all you have is the Walrus, maybe you can stretch it out, pull it sideways, maybe there's really a deep fantasy side that you don't let come out, who knows.

I just see person after person ask which niche is best, how to get traffic, when they are missing the point altogether. You say it, and it's like they don't even see it. Over their head.

Basically no niche is better than another. Basically no traffic tactic that is really better than another. None of that really matters. to a point.

What matters is what you say. If your blog is not interesting or does not have some kind of character(personality), or even a character as in fictional person, if your blog is not interesting, it doesn't matter what niche your in or how you try to gather traffic, your blog probably won't be a hit. There exceptions to the rule, or if you trade a bunch of traffic (force surfers to your site).

I have a bunch of blogs that just spit out porn, different niches, how do they do? Just okay. Why? Because of what I said above.

I have another blog where I created a character, a fantasy character that is interesting and the surfers believe it. Guess what it was a hit pretty quick, much more so than my other blogs. It's not a huge success because I don't put enough in to it, not as I should. I don't push the envelope as much as I could. I'll tell you though, how many e-mails I've gotten from people talking to this fake "girl", they want to meet her, date her, ect. Believing the fantasy and coming back to keep reading. Even though I haven't got it to the best it can be, for time spent it is the most productive.

I think every one has it in them. Some wild side they wish they could live, some dark side no one knows about. They might even know some one that is interesting.

Instead of worrying about which niche, or which traffic generation tip, why not create something people want to read? Content is king and always will be. Many say, if you produce good (or interesting) content, people will find you. It would also help a GREAT deal if it was something you would be interested in, something that excites you.

Stop chasing the pot of gold and just create. Create interesting.

Ronnie when I did the TJ escort thing I was having two problems, guys making dates then not showing up and collecting my half from the hookers.
I solved both problems by putting email addresses to the girls on the site then I would play hooker and answer them. If they wanted to see more pictures they had to join the site for $100, if they wanted a date they had to join the site and then give the girl $100 when they met.
I was doing 3 to 5 sales a day flirting with Johns and half of them never even went on a date.
I have no doubt your blog with the fake girl will do well as long as you can keep up the charade.

Great example. Well, my blog does "okay", probably because I spend little time on it, actually it's turned more into a porn post, sadly. Just don't have the time. Non-adult is also taking up more time, a good thing..

What you said is proof though, or a perfect example. It doesn't even have to be a hooker. You could be some teen slut, or a cheer leader whore, or male hooker, a male stud, even a fetish freak, a soccer mom dom, a secret tranny. The list is endless. Look at Rochard, he puts a personality into his blog.

To many people worrying about the wrong things. Took me a while to figure it out to I guess. But if you don't have good content, or interesting content, isn't generating traffic some what a waste? Instead of building a base, your constantly working on getting more new eyeballs. Look at Google, one of the things they look at when figuring ranks, is how long people stay on your site, how often they come back.

Why?

Content is King. Or real close.

I am the last one to preach, as much of my blogs is just, "here's the porn", because I don't have time, thats my excuse..

I kind of goaded ronnie on purpose because I knew if he got long winded enough he could really drive home is point...and it is an excellent one.

Mass splogs have their place but if you really want something that attracts people, generates traffic, then a interesting blog will win out every time over 10-20 splogs.

Content is king? Are you kidding?

You can have the best product in the world but if you don't put it in front of people, you won't sell it. (And in this business putting it in front of people means traffic)

Your right, but not getting the point. You gotta start with a good product in the first place. In this case a blog, a blog with good content. Plus if you have the best product in the world, people will find you, less traffic work.

If you start with a crappy or low quality product, where is most of the traffic you worked on generating going to go? Out the door and probably not come back. Why should they? So your constantly working on getting new traffic. Actually some what counter productive really.

If you have the best product in the world, your traffic is only going to grow, people come back, people stay longer on the site, they bookmark, they add the feed to their reader so they don't miss anything, ect, ect. You end up getting more from your traffic generation efforts.

Would the dyson vacuum cleaner be where it is today if it didn't make a great product? It's been talked about on this very board, word of mouth. Just one example.

I agree with that Ronnie.

That's why I don't push out 100s of rss splogs like some so called bloggers do and they wonder why they barely get by.

Traffic and good content will always beat traffic and shitty duplicate content that lazy bloggers push out.

But at the end of the day this is a numbers game and the more traffic one commands the more money they "should" be able to make.
