I miss making freesites!
With all the talk about new formats, just had to say how much I miss making freesites. Even with the current format, they can still be fun and creative and are sweet little projects done in a couple of hours.
I really hope to get back to FS making and submitting soon. I am just so swamped with other projects atm, and rather limited with work time, so no time for my FS

yeah I know what you mean... sometimes I feel like doing anything else myself... but I guess after a while you do start missing them. hell, it's why i'm back

i hate making free sites....i quited making free sites some years ago...just because i got more picky... about ...how to make the layout, what colors etc etc, free sites making is easy (yes and i go against my own words now) and hell so many ways to make a free site and ones you build a trust with linksite owners you get more freedom about the way you make them to submit ........the last free sites i ever made took me 3 days, while normally i could made one in 30 minutes and why? Because i nagged that the colors werent right and the background wasnt right....but i had the text and the pics all done, i had a totally free site but kept nagging about the colors.......its just me...the curtains have to match with the colors of the couch
 , so yep i am glad i dont make free sites anymore...my life is a part easier in this bizz |

The downside is you can't get into making and selling templates! The upside is that now I know who to call when I'll need help decorating. Caution tho, I never bought any curtains, ever! But I guess I could use a couch...

I am about to go back into them after a break but each time i start, another project takes over putting my start date back. This weekend fingers crossed will see me building again.

The v1.5 thread has got me thinking about building FS again too. I didn't think they performed very well when I did them a few years ago, but seeing how many are still popping the odd sale has convinced me it's worth the time. It may take a lonnnngggg time, but it's worth adding to your traffic arsenal, IMO.

Takes me about 3-4 hours to build one. Spend too much time getting it to look "Nice".
In an average week I might get 2-3 done before I get fed up and work on one of my other unfinished projects. What sucks is having them rejected for something minor by half the lists you submit to. |
