Well shit.

I usually check the board all during the day to give myself a break from site building but mom wanted me to come over this morning and take down four light fixtures and install new ones. Then she needed help with her computer, then her new digital camera, then her slide show digital picture frame, etc. and I'm late getting the great news. I was concerned at first with some of the rules thinking there would be no other lists that would accept sites built within these rules but I see from the posts that there just might be a decent handfull to make a recip table out of. I see some smaller lists getting thrown in a recip table with one of the big dogs...

(forgot to mention I'll take sites following those rules from kwown board members)

One question Greenie...As long as I have two galleries that match the look of the site and meet all the requirements etc. ,can I add a 'bonus' sponsor hosted gallery or 2 that doesn't match my sites colors?

Flash movies are allowed, as long as they follow the regular movie rules for time. As far as the page, the rule for "Pics/Movies Opening On HTML Pages" is "1 Ad/Page" so I think the answer to your question is YES

Damn, just got my first batch of sites submitted using the "new LOR rules" and it was a bitch. Probably fucked up a few submits along the way. Kept forgetting to put the index page URL in the first position and the main page URL in the recip location position.

And since I had the recip table on the main page quite a few scripts barfed and said I didn't have a recip on the page submitted.

I think I'll go back to the old rules and keep it simple.

But hey, it was an adventure!

Hell - just change the things that work for you - I'm giving it a little thought before I jump in - but expect my first "new format" site to be pretty close to what I already do. Of course, there are a few items that I will use for sure.

love the new rules nice to see freesites taking more steps to make this more profitable for everybody. Now i just need to build more acceptable sites and earn trusted submitter status.

Trusted Submitters can do a number of things, like use a counter, use free or revshare hosting, have a private whois and more.

Some of these items are on some of the shared banned lists. LLs using the new format might want to check their scripts.

I definitely like the new rules and Trusted Submitter idea. It's a great deal for those people who put a lot of work into their free sites and helps flush out the poop. I tried taking submits at a hub one time but became overwhelmed with turd submits so I just got a list of free sites from board members and sprinkled them into my lists here and there, recip free. It was easier than wading through shitty freesite submits with the same template and crappy content (you don't know how much I hate vodka-loving Russian grannies...) day after day. Frustrating.

Every few months I get the urge to make some new free sites. The new rules just might rejuvenate me.

Since MML does all my reviews, I will also be following suit for Trusted Submitters ...

But I will need a few weeks to set up a place for you submitters to submit to since I am getting married in a week then again a week after. I dont have the time right now and I havent discussed this yet with MML (But I have talked to Greenie earlier this month about this new free site format)

Maybe this will be the impetus the link lists need to get away from the model of insisting on free sites carrying increasingly higher quality, easy access free porn that's driving the signups away.
