I sure am glad that you take my opinions seriously enough to try and shoot them down.

Yeah, free sites are viable but their base is quickly being eroded in favor of tube and torrent sites not to mention the porn BBS's that look just like this forum but every post contains more free porn then you will find in 100 free sites and at no charge too!

It isn't that the advertising isn't there, it's there alright just in a different form, sometimes much more bold and in your face and sometime subtle like the page peel add or the IM pop-up. The point is it's dynamic and adaptable and the level of participation between surfer, webmaster and affiliate has changed tremendously.

Looking at the rules to get your static, don't you dare change it, free site listed on a link list is like looking at granny's old school book. It's amusing and way out of touch. How quaint.

After a fairly poor night's sleep (dog woke me up to go outside even though there's a doggy door, PSU fan started making noise, etc.), I've reread this thread and I'm not entirely certain what the hell the real argument is about. Ok, ned, you feel that free sites and the rules governing their composition are antiquated and they fail to adequately compete against tubes, torrents and porn forums. Is ned really so passionately opposed to free sites that he was willing to take a good-hearted effort to help a newbie and transform it into this mess? Perhaps, but I'm sure many of us could find some points of agreement on the effectiveness, or lack thereof, of the modern free site, but with the understanding that free sites, galleries, blogs or any other method of SELLING porn isn't meant to compete against those who ignore copyrights, content licenses, sponsor TOS and common sense. Thus far, the argument against this model is analogous to saying a pharmacy should be shut down because it'll never going compete with the crack dealer on the corner.

I suppose what I'm saying, ned, is that you should step up and bring something to the table. We get it - you don't think Kisa should build and submit free sites because she won't be able to compete with stolen porn. Fine, what then? What is poor, innocent Kisa to do? ned? You there buddy? Illuminate us all. The naive children of GG&Jim are eagerly awaiting omnipotent illumination.

While I appreciate your reply, I did not think the argument was based on how to compete against the plethora of free and stolen porn.

I took exception to a statement made by starman:

"We're the ones with the free porn here and were running the show so if we feel like making surfers go through 5 pages of bullshit to get to the porn not only are they going to like it,their going to beg for seconds!Were calling the shots here!We got em by the balls and their credit cards!"

Hindsight being 20/20 I should not have said this was bullshit, so let me rephrase it to "I strongly disagree with the above statement."

It's misleading on it's own, it's misleading in the context of the original post and it's misleading in the context of a newbie board.
It's just hype, (I'm being polite here), totally unrelated to the real world of selling porn.

If you are a webmaster just starting off, reading a statement like that instantly gives you the wrong impression of the adult biz.
In fact it was a real hoot to read something so patently false like that in 2008.

To wrap it up, Kisa is free to build whatever she wants to build, I believe the most important thing is for Kisa to build her empire with her eyes wide open and not with a view that's been obfuscated by foolish talk.
