Suggestions for getting traffic flowing to a new blog?

I'm using Wordpress for my blog. It is listed well in google, but I can't seem to get any of the individual post pages listed in Google.

I have this problem on two free blogs that I use, and it is because they are missing two essential features. All in One SEO and Ultimate Plugins Smart Pinger plugins.

All in One will allow you to optimize your posts for SERPS, simple to use and available from the wordpress plugins site.

Pinging will allow you to ping your posts and site when updated without spaming ping bots. There is a bit more involved...click the following link for download and detailed instructions:

Oh, and make absolutely certain you have permalinks enabled without the #'s messy urls.

If that does not help, I would like to know about it...

I would totally ignore the so called blog directories , their traffic is minuscule. I submitted my blog to LL that I submit fs to and got way more traffic.

I'm also leaning this way. When you're first listed, you're on the main page and/or main category page and get lots of traffic. But very soon you drop down as more blogs are added. Soon they're linking to your blog from page 21 and geting 0 traffic while still linking back to their main url.
So it's good in the beginning for quick traffic and incoming PR links, but after a couple months it's trade value dwindles....

Agreed. Most blog directories, not all are like that and are owned by one of about three people. The ones not in that network are much better and run more like traditional link sites.
