I've always wondered if there was a god. And now I know there is -- and it's me

Yes or No!!!

Was watching the nightly news and the "Pledge of Allegiance" is going back to court. Should it be said in schools now adays ?

Its kind of funny..

The non beleivers don't take the US mints to court. I was looking at some change, a penny, nickle, dime, quarter, a 1, 2, 5, 10, 20, and 50 bill. (Didin't have a $100 bill to see) But on every coin and every currency bill had "IN GOD WE TRUST" somewhere printed/stamped on it.

These non beleivers are sure willing to spend US legal currency, but they don't want their children to say those 4 words in the "Pledge of Allegiance" "One Nation Under God".

something to ponder

I think God should be left off the money as well as out of schools those are no places for it.

Want your kids to talk about god at school then send them to a private bible thumper school.

Funny how the bible thumpers are screaming "we are a Christian nation" but yet, show me where in the US Constitution it says the word Christianity, or the name Christ?

It says God, meaning you are free to believe in which god you are wanting to believe in. But the Bible Thumpers never think that, they think it's their way or it's un-American.

Thumpers want the 10 commandments in the court house, so should it be next to the Torah or the Koran?

Religion has no place in public schools the way facts have no place in organized religion.

Oh yeah, it's moronic that it is on our money.

Well, frankly, we can opt out of the Pledge. We can stand quietly and respectfully. We can't opt out of US currency, though I use my Visa debit card a lot more than I ever use cash, so in Bank of America I trust.

I think having a Pledge at all is idoitic and reeks of fascism, but maybe that's cause I'm cranky.

Freedom of choice is what made America great. That's what countless soldiers have died for.

It seems in this new millennium everyone wants to restrict the other persons right to choose. Everyone knows what best for the other guy.

Where would this business be without freedom of choice?

After having religion forced down my throat for the 1st 16 years of my life, I'm completely against any mix of Church & State.

I am with Surfn. They should have the right to choose if they want to or not.

Personally I would rather see less government than less religion. I can just ignore religion.

its a pretty heavy subject to debate on without stepping on someones toes. I graduated highschool 4 years ago and remember the moment of silence after the pledge. We dont say the pledge in college, which im thankful for. But I do think we have a right to choose. Mixing church and state will never be a good thing, because to many people believe (and have a right to believe) in different things.

I agree with the general view expressed here so far. Church and state should be seperate. I think the pedge in schools is wrong as the reference to God on our money in the courts as well.

God does not belong in the schools, the Pledge of Allegiance does......in its original form. But then I believe kids need to be taught civics & be made aware of their rights & responsibilities for the freedoms we have.

The Pledge of Allegiance was not written with "God" included & when it was added (by Congress) the author disagreed with it.
