HDV2 editing

I believe HDV2 format is actually an MPEG-2 file.

I use MPEG Steamclip along with the QuickTime MPEG-2 plugin to convert to MPEG-2 files to a MOV file so that it can be edited. I'm on a Mac but I think both these items are also available for Windows.

thanks for the response. I tried streamclip and the video showed up a white box. Im pretty sure I already have that mpeg2 codec installed but still i cannot play it back in anything but any video converter. Starting to think these files can only be edited on a mac. If anyone has experienced this problem before I would appreciate your input.
