The important thing is not what you do, but when you decide how to go, do whatever it is you do WELL. For example (and this is NOT intended as a criticism of you, I am simply using your post as an example), you say:

Actually both these can bring in a lot of good traffic and hard links can help your SE ranking, but you have to know what you are doing and really work at it. Trading with anyone who will have you (or the first few traders you come across) will get you screwed. That may sound like "too much work", but whatever method you finally choose to get you traffic, it will require similar levels of work. No one ever said that making money from WMing was easy (or if they did they were lying), there is no "set it, leave it, and make millions while lying in the sun in Barbados" solution, if there were none of us would be here, we would all be lying in the sun in Barbados!
