I has never been in TGP game, because I was afraid of burning of bandwidth with a minimal effect. In the other hand, I am one of the few freesite submitters in today's cyberspace I've been doing this because:

1) No cost (excepting Tommy's Bookmarks)
2) Link & traffic support for the domain
3) Sometimes comes sign up from site added months ago
4) I generally like GG's partner rules that allow me to do the tamplates from FHGs and then linking directly to them

Despite what I mentioned this method is "complementary", however, it still pays off (it takes me approx. 1,5 hour a day).

And yes, I do blogging as well but results for each blog are very different. I made many mistakes in the past
