Morning. Well iphone 5 for the lady and me isn't going to be here. Don't really care for some reason. Whatever. It will get here soon enough. I guess because I don't have the adapters and shit for my car yet it doesn't matter maybe.

I did upgrade to ios 6 and my iphone 4 feels a lot faster. Personally I like the maps application. That and google apps is coming and in the mean time I can just use maps.google.com on my browser. Just really not sure what people are crying about.

Other than that it will be hot again today. I'll be coding a little on a mainstream project. After that I've put together lots of little projects that I hope to start to bring together for my lame link lists. It's been far too long coming. It will be longer but I'm getting there.

Alright. It's Friday and that's good. Got dinner with friends in North County later tonight. Yah!

The app itself is well done, the inference is where the problems are.

Pier 17, San Francisco on iPhone Maps Pier 17 according to google

TomTom supplied the data, Apple's engine on top has some glaring problems. I don't recall who is providing the imagery, but, their 3d presentation of it has some issues.

Google is the king of intent when it comes to mapping. Apple has a way to go, but, will get there. They started with 'everything' in order to compete with Google Maps - rather than starting with mapping, getting that right, then moving on to satellite imagery, then moving to 3d.

SIRI supposedly returns results for New York, Texas when you ask for the 'Siri, what's the weather outside?' in New York City. Richmond Virginia returns results for New Richmond, Ohio.

I get the feeling things were pushed a little ahead of schedule, and, without the need for perfection that Steve Jobs apparently drove.

Hope everyone has a good Friday.
