Yeah, survived the storm, but when I tried to get a train to North London, nothing was travelling more that four stops northwards. Trees fallen on the track I guess.
Our media was a little "overstated" about the storm too. Yesterday they all but inferred that we would all die and England would sink into the sea! |

That is what we call "the British stiff upper lip".
I can remember, as a child on holiday, sitting on the beach with a portable windbreak set up to stop the wind. It started to rain - did we go back home? No, my parents set up two deck chairs either side of us, put the windbreak across the top to create a frontless and backless tent, then sat on the beach enjoying ourselves in the rain. That, my friend, is "the British stiff upper lip"! |
