Inspections under US law are pretty much outside the scope of warrants of whatever. Just like the food inspectors, building inspectors, health inspectors, immigration inspectors, whatever... within the boundries and scope of their jobs, they can pretty much go anywhere with or without prior notice, depending on how the laws that apply to their profession are written.

2257 (the new one) specifically explains how inspections would happen. That is what regulates and created the legality of it all.

Lassiter, my thinking is that something will likely be put inplace that would require secondary producers to be able to produce contracts or affidavits or whatever that says "I am not primary for this content". I think that now the court has said the secondary thing as written won't work, I think they will take some sort of stab at getting in the back door what didn't go in the front door.

Remember that the intention of the law (unstated) isn't to protect children, but to embarrass people and make it hard to be in the porn business. They want a way in the door so that they can come in and inspect your stuff, and hopefully find some other plain site crime to hang you with. They want your neighbors to know what you do, they want your community to know what you do, and they want that pressure to push the mom and pops out of business.
