So because this ass basically cold called me & did no homework, I'm the ass for getting upset?

And let's not pretend that this little ICQ marketing ploy was not just a way to get personal with your affiliates. You've done this with 400 webmasters? Really? I'm betting that's most, if not all of your affiliates. I base this on my sales rank for this Pay Period that you have posted in the stats area:
Sales Rank: #14

I've sent TWO sales this period.

If your #14 affiliate has 2 sales, you do not have much more than 400 affiliates total. Send a fucking email like everyone else does.

Captain Obvious should have given up when I said no thanks. He should have realized that he was ignorant to my needs as a webmaster when I said that I didn't do that much with galleries.

Hell, according to CaptainObvious, he should have never sent me the 2nd ICQ, since I didn't reply to the 1st one.
Lots of webmasters did two sales with our program, more did one, we have smaller webmasters and bigger webmasters, you're in the middle.

If you think our #1-13 affiliates do 1-2 joins a day each you're straight out wrong.

I don't understand where you guys get the "cold calls" and "telemarketing" bullshit from - I'm not trying to sell you anything, I just wanted to tell you about our new sites.

I don't care if you only have 1 site, I start off with everybody giving them galleries to see where they direct me since MOST webmasters own more than 1 site - you're the ONLY person to turn it into such a big issue.

I'm done here, I have more important things to work on, like I said in the ICQ, don't list the 123 sites on greenguy, I don't give a fuck.

omg over 400 affiliates is what he mentions and 386+ of them have less than 2 sales in 15 out of a 16 day payout period....woohoo, hate that I am missing out on that kinda income. NOT!

Obviously neither of you run affiliate programs. To think that the first 10affiliates aren't doing 200+ sales a period each is being oblvious and stupid.

OK, let me get this right to make sure I can read and understand.....

This started as "I want to help you" and turned into the "dont be an asshole" remark. Seems somebody missed a few lessons in Basic Customer Service 101. Anybody that worked for me that did that would be out the door immediately.

But the thing that I find the most offensive is Josh coming in and trying to back him up and justify his inexcusable behaviour. If it we me and I was the bos there, I would be coming in trying to clean up the mess that had been made, not jumping in the ring to sling punches myself.

I do run an affiliate program and realize that not only are my affiliates also my customers, they rank right up there as the most important. I just dont see how anybody could miss that. Is it just me??

FYI, a number of the people that have responded in this thread do indeed run affiliate programs and are just as stunned as the rest of us with the attitudes diplayed by you and your rep.

If I found out that someone representing my company had behaved in such a manner they'd now be seeking employment elsewhere.

I have never once, not once been left alone after I've said "No thanks" to an affiliate manager.

If an affiliate manger quits there, they are bad reps.

We have many tools to offer so if an affiliate doesn't like one, we can offer them more.

From what I'm reading here, the problem seems fairly obvious (pun intended) - the people who run Metal Cash are a bunch of unbelievably ignorant cunts who don't have enough affiliates to make their program worth running, so they're spending their afternoon here continuing this piss thread in order to draw attention to themselves. A roadkill racoon's ass which as been rotting in the sun for three days would leave a better taste in my mouth than Metal Cash's performance here today.

I've had a few sponsor reps hit me up in the past with nothing more than a "hey there, I'm your rep, let me know if you need anything" and they always know enough to leave me alone when I don't express any interest. Good on 'em. But that CaptainOrifice dude is one dumb fucker. That, or he's just starved or attention. He's a neglected child wandering around looking for hugs. It's all so sad.

Oddly enough, I have medals, but not for responding to threads. Do they have such things? By the way, the 'warrior' has nothing to do with the way in which I respond to cocksuckers on the board. I chose that name long before I got burned out reading posts by people like you and your little retarded monkeyboy.

Fuck you and fuck your little program. The correct thing to do would have been to come here and apologize for hiring an ex used car salesman for an affiliate rep.

All you've managed to do is make more work for assholes like me. Now, every time someone on the board asks what sort of experience we've had with Metal Cash, I have to point them to this thread. That that copying and pasting and can tire me out.

This is so simple. DUDE you came at GG with an offer. He told you no. Then you hard press. Please, your not making much of a case here in fact you are killing your own program. The shit has not even started and you are just being so stupid. You must have went to some fucked up business school. Heres some advice on which you could have avoided this whole nightmare. You come on the board say, sorry I was over worked blah blah. And forget it. Tomorrow is another day, and you still hold face and get get traffic. Now you are just looking to kill the site before it ever gets off the ground. Sit back have a drink and think about how you are going about business right now and how it's going to be screwed down the road. Heres the post, if it's wrong or edited then put up your side.

After he said he wasn't interested in galleries he offered him links to paysites which he is pushing right now. How is that wrong?

The thing I see wrong here is he said he was not interested, even if you were trying to remind him that he is promoing something for you already own it don't matter. He said no thanks. Any smart salesman knows when to back off and come back another day. They surly know not to insult a partner. That's just crazy. Sure GG called the guy an asshole at that point the guy should have just backed off and said sorry to bother you. He made it clear he was having a bad day/night leave him alone. Try again the next day. Maybe try a differant route, e-mail during the day, explain you ment no harm and would like to keep up good business and I bet he would talk it over with you. The guy helps people out and has for sometime, people like that are not assholes but everyone has a breaking point. Thing is a smart salesman knows when to back off and yours did not. Now you are here defending him and your program trying to save face but your not helping. Best advice I can give you now is just let it die man.

I guess I will chime in...
I have run affiliate programs from 1996-3 years ago the 1st of this month. And yes, I have used icq to both offer new sites and programs to existing affiliates and to entice new affiliates. But never, have I been rude to anyone that said no to me. Even if they were rude to me, I apologized for bothering them and moved on. Never, would I ever consider calling an existing affiliate an asshole. That is just bad for business. And, I would have never considered contacting the existing affiliate without knowing everything I could about not only their traffic but also them, personally. Nothing works quite as well as asking about the family. Knowing Greenie the way I do, if your sites worked well for him, he would have jumped all over them and promoted them to death.

The other thing I would have done as the owner of that program would have to come here and to apologize for their employee, not stick up for them.

The problem with Marketing people that don't know how to market is the attitude mentioned earlier. The affiliate is not our customer. While technically that is true, they should still be treated that way. Affiliates are your bread and butter.

And if some of the linklist owners here (and there are a lot), decided to make it a rule, "If you promote MetalCash, you will not be listed", how much do you think that would hurt?

This entire problem started with someone trying to market that really has no idea what they are doing.

Careful Chop! Josh is on the phone with his attorney right now seeing what he can do about squelching everyones opinions of MetalCash.

This thread is excellent SE fodder for both 'Metal Cash' and 'MetalCash' searches.

He didnt say maybe, he didnt say later, he didnt say next week.

He said "no thanks". He was trying to say no, and be nice...

I have some advice for you guys...

If some one says something bad about you, your program, or the people who work for you. Say you are sorry for what ever problem that may have been caused, and that you will fix it, or try to fix it.

Do not go to a webmaster board with tons of people who could be sending you traffic, and making you money. To start talking shit about one of the guys the board is named after.

Plus, this is THE board for link list owners and free site builders. Out of hundreds of link lists, we all know that there are only about 15-20 lists which control the traffic and, among them, there is only a handful of owners that are well-know and respected. CaptainObvious, not realizing who he was speaking with (as a good rep should), called very possibly the single most respected and influential link list owner an asshole. Just plain bad business.
