using sponsor content for freesites?
I was wondering when building freesites, how much of the content is bought and how much is used from the sponsors free downloaded content if available? As in I've been using my own bought content but was wondering what others have been doing. Some of the sponsors content looks good but I dont want to waste my time with it if it is so over exposed.
What are some of your thoughts? |

If something goes wrong at the plant, blame the guy who can't speak English

my thoughts would be if you can make sales from it, then make a site from it. Yes the content may be over exposed for the best converting sponsors - the LL owner may even set up his / her own free sites using that content, but if you make the site, SEO it, stick it on your own LL and submit it to 40+ sites, some will list it, and your better off than if you had not made the site at all (assuming you wouldn't have done anything else in those 3 hours!).
Where possible I think giving away bought content on freesites is a touch over kill. If its exclusive type content, or just stuff not many have seen, why give it away for free, when you can charge for it? |

I also did not know if it would be against some LL's rules. I'll check to see.

This is one of those questions that comes up from time to time. Some searches would most likely shed some light on the subject.
Personally, I've used both over the years...though the vast majority of the time I use purchased content. However, there are some paysites (solo girl and such)...where one is compelled to use sponsor content. Purchasing your own content does allow more freedom of use when choosing who to promote. Also, if a sponsor completely tanks and you choose to change links, you can do so with purchased content. Obviously, if you're using sponsor content...changing links would be a no no. Also, sponsor content frequently has watermarks...sometimes those watermarks can be downright ugly and intrusive on the pic quality. This is not always the case though as some sponsors are smart enough to keep the watermarks reasonable. Lastly, there are some (not a lot), but some link sites that flatly decline sponsor content period. Most, myself included...will in fact list sponsor content provided the watermarks aren't ridiculous and the content isn't over-exposed. So, in a nutshell...if you're going to use sponsor content; Grab it asap when it becomes available to reduce chances of the scenes being recently listed. Try to promote sites that aren't already heavily promoted. Definitely read the rules where you're submitting to make sure they don't flatly refuse all sponsor content. Good luck ![]() |

Thanks for the insight Mr Yum, I'll do a search and see what comes up.
