What is a "hardlink" trade?

What are all the different kinds of link trades? Like what is a scripted link and a hardlink trade?

thanks!

A hardlink trade is permanent, usually just meant to help with search engine rankings, usually at the bottom of a page, not really meant to trade traffic in a big way.

A script trade is used with link trading scripts, mostly on TGP's and usually involves forcing traffic to a site in exchange for traffic sent back.

And then there's A-B-C trades, where you have a link to site A from site B in exchange in exchange for a link from site C.

My understanding at least, not my area of expertise tho.
