That which does not kill us, will try, try again.

Yanno...it would be great if someone would could provide a service that actually produced anything like unique posts for different affiliates. But a simple swap of a few words in each post does not uniqueness make. Sorry for pointing this out on your post but those of us who do use sponsor RSS feeds are tired of the crappy ways that morphing is handled in most cases.
Quoted from your site: "Duplicate content" penalties can severely hamper the ranking and growth potential of a blog.* It is vital that these posts are unique.* Not only do the penalties add up, but ones blog can be lumped into the search results with every other affiliate who used that same static feed. • We provide your affiliates with frequently updated, unique, high quality, professionally written feed posts. --- Really? --- Looking at the real-time morphing demo on your website, that example post has 146 words and the morphed version changes only 6 of them. That's just about 4% of the total text content. So maybe you mean something different when you say unique? Demo post version A Amy Reid, despite her Latin looks, was born in California just 23 years ago, growing up all over Southern California. Probably being so close to Hollywood and having those amazingly large and all natural tits made her consider acting as a profession. Thank goodness she did not try to become a traditional actress but instead chose porn performances as her field of action.Demo post version B Amy Reid, despite her Latin looks, was born in California just 23 years ago, growing up all over Southern California. Probably being so close to Hollywood and having those amazingly large and all natural breasts made her consider acting as a profession. Thank goodness she did not try to become a regular actress but instead chose porn performances as her field of action.-- I really hope it was just some terrible accident which allowed that post to be used as your demo example. Surely you don't believe changing 4% of the words would really do anything to avoid the terrible 'duplicate content' penalties which you warn can severely hurt a blog. ![]() Last edited by Simon; 2008-09-24 at 06:18 PM.. |

Simon.. there's actually more than meets the eyes... keywords are randomized moreso than normal relevance words.. images are uniquely named with keyword combinations, ALT tags are randomized as well.
Surely you'd prefer the morphed posts on your blog/splog network over the substandard RSS that programs are putting out nowadays? |

Oh no, I'm sweating like Roger Ebert

A morphed feed loses the nuances of the language. Seriously, I don't think I've ever heard anyone use "short" when describing a persons age and "tender" would typically describe someone much less than 23. Either way, it's not the way people typically speak. "Short" mentally distracted me completely away from what I was reading. If I was a surfer, I probably would have been gone. As far as duplicate content goes, I really don't buy into the idea that changing a few keywords, alt tags, etc. with a few synonyms is going to fool the big boys. All I really want from a sponsor is a well written post and a good size photo in a properly formatted feed. If I want it morphed I definately have the ability to do so. And unfortunately, like so many others you've decided to put all the post content in the item description field of the post. While this is great for those using WP to create splog after splog and using a mainstream plug-in like feedwordpress it's a work around that makes the feed useless for anything other than building splog after splog after splog and believe it or not there are more uses for feeds than that. There is a reason that the blogging platforms use item content encoded field for the post information and there is a reason that the mainstream aggregators don't post the item content encoded field. Whats sad is that no one in the adult industry thought to write a WP plug-in to solve the problem rather than make the feeds themselved non-standard. |
