Question about link list and TGP

I have only been at this a few weeks, but in that time, I have posted several free sites to many link lists. My question is - how does one know whether their free site has actually been added?

The only link lists that has emailed me with information about whether my site was added to their links list is GreenGuy, Penis Bot and one other (the name of which I can't recall at the moment.)

So, how do you know? And if you don't hear from these LL owners, should you assume that you were not listed and just remove their link, and submit to a different list?

Follow this rule... Build, Sub and Move on.

Build: build your galleries / sites
Sub: submit them
Move On: forget about what you've just done and repeat.

A more important question than "who is listing you?" is the question "who is sending you traffic?"! There are plenty of link lists and TGPs that will list you quickly and possibly even send you an email, but who get so little traffic themselves that they send you bugger all hits, or close to bugger all hits. When you start off this is not going to matter, as you will have time to test new sites. But as your list of sites to submit to grows, submitting to no-good sites will use up time that could be more profitably spent elsewhere. So keep an eye on your stats, note who sends you no traffic, who sends you loads of traffic, and the various stages in between. Then stop submitting to sites that send no traffic. As your list of submit sites grows, you will also have to drop those that only send you a little traffic, but the amount of time you have to submit and the size of you list of good sites will determine where you put the drop off line.

Oh, and in case you are not already aware; you really need good stat software to do this. Not only are free counters not accurate enough, a lot of link lists will not list you if you have a free counter on your site.

Yeah build, submit, forget.

Just check your traffic against the places your submitting and if you never see traffic coming in from someone after a month or two then replace them with someone else on all future sites.

I wouldnt go back and change ones already accepted to other sites and risk breaking their rules and getting pulled on accident.
