Does Your Blog Have Proper Written Posts? - Page 2

webpimp has basically described what I do. The blog that I actually write lengthy posts for is pretty much strictly a promotional tool, but it is for the niche on which I personally get off, so it's very easy to write paragraphs about a single photograph and I think the fact that I am a real person talking about a niche that I LOVE comes through. Every once in awhile I also make a post that doesn't have any promo links -- if I find a hot photo on Flickr or some bit of news footage that my niche lovers would enjoy. Those always get a ton of clicks and I think help personalize the blog as not just being about trying to make a buck (even though that is in fact its purpose).

It's a lot of work though and I only have the energy to do it on one blog, so my other blogs are turning into splogs LOL

For off-topic ranting and such though, I have a Livejournal that isn't trying to sell anything and I've maintained that for over 5 years and post to it multiple times per day most of the time.

I always keep my blog personal. I write about my days like its a journal.

Hey everybody:-)

Mine's basically personal but geared towards keeping my members informed about updates, etc. I do write (make that over-write, heheh...) all my own posts though with vague thoughts that it all means a nice sprinkling of keywords and image tag-thingies...

Always looking for trades, too -- I'm at mina AT xxxmina dot com, if anyone's interested. All my outlinks are down the right hand column. Personal blogs will end up in "Favorites", directories will end up under "More Blogs" and both rotate randomly.

I run quite a few blogs but don't write any of them. I have a team of people who actually do the writing. Also have a pure sponsor-rss-feed blog.

At the moment I'm trying to see if paying professional writers, and hence having a blog rich in interesting material that people will actually want to read, is worthwhile from a bottom line perspective.

I am AM getting a solid amount of dedicated readership, plenty of real blogger traffic on the best site, but will it turn into sales? Time will tell -- I have yet to start actively selling in any of them, but just have the writer's drop in an on topic affiliate link here and there.

So far the biggest plus for me is the writing team I've put together, complete with job tracking to see what's being done and a professional editor who vets all the work. So I can now set them on to all sorts of projects and get a lot of solid material generated while I'm doing something else (like sleeping).
