Sports 2008
I just wanted to post this story I just read, I am stunned that this could happen let alone has happen.
___________________________________________________ http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/200....ap/index.html NEW HAVEN, Conn. (AP) -- Nine-year-old Jericho Scott is a good baseball player -- too good, it turns out. The right-hander has a fastball that tops out at about 40 mph. He throws so hard that the Youth Baseball League of New Haven told his coach that the boy could not pitch any more. When Jericho took the mound anyway last week, the opposing team forfeited the game, packed its gear and left, his coach said. Officials for the three-year-old league, which has eight teams and about 100 players, said they will disband Jericho's team, redistributing its players among other squads, and offered to refund $50 sign-up fees to anyone who asks for it. They say Jericho's coach, Wilfred Vidro, has resigned. But Vidro says he didn't quit and the team refuses to disband. Players and parents held a protest at the league's field on Saturday urging the league to let Jericho pitch. |

That is stunning to say the least!!!!
I understand the league is for beginners but to say he cannot pitch at all? Maybe "ask" if he can pitch partial games or something... ask! But a kids sports is to get kids to excel. Imagine how much better hitters will become in that league as time goes on? I bet a lot better. |

That is truly fucked!
Next thing you know they'll be applying that rule to politicians, if they're too smart, they can't run for office! Then where would we be?

Ok, Back to Sports....
I see the SEC went cheap and instead of getting their own network like they wanted, they signed with ESPN for 15 years as well as another 15 years with CBS giving the SEC the largest market for NCAA football and I personally think that is completely wrong.
I have no issues with them having their own network, in fact I think each conference should get their own network and/or make all games available for PPV, but CBS and ESPN is national stations, every conference should get equal time not just Notre Dame (NBC) and the SEC (CBS/ESPN). |

This reminds me of signing up late for pop warner.
They made me sit on the bench until the last 2 games. They put me on defensive line. I was pissed off. I must have made 20 plus tackles the first game. and 30 the next. (Foaming out of my mouthpiece) I was a fucking madman. I think they were lucky I didnt turn into a murderer or something It's stories like these that just urk the hell out of me.

ND? Well . . . You got a point, They Suck

UW got fucked, that was a terrible flag for a non unsportsmanlike, let the kids play, it wasn’t "in your face" it was a celebration.
SDSU also got robbed; he was clearly in the EZ about 1/2 sec before the fumble and only giving it a 20 sec review? They showed 5 or 6 horrible angles of it until they showed the EZ camera and there is no doubt he broke the plain, and that cost a SDSU over the Irish. Referees should not be deciding games. |

Everyone knows the SEC is the conference to beat. What other conference has 4-5 teams in the top 10 every year? None. Four this year, five in the top 15. The SEC kills itself because everyone is so tough someone is gonna get a loss and nationally that's a killer. WAR EAGLE!

Very good ending. Had they lost it be time to move the team like the announcer said last year when they were way up on the Bears and lost. He backtracked quick on that statement.
But the coaching didn't do anything wrong that I could see, all coaches call a TO to ice the kicker. Bad defense on the Barber run/TD. I think they got a bad rap with the injured player. The player should have laid down on the field then it wouldn't have been a penalty. That was the longest final seconds I've seen in a while, LOL. Damn San Fran not covering the spread cost me $175 on my proline ticket but I did win $100 and need San Diego to cover for another $100. Long time coming. |

I think it was a bad timeout, it was 50+ yards and they already wasted 5 minutes figuring out what was going on so he was "iced" as he was going to get.
And I was very happy for Chike Okafor (From my hometown and a Boilermaker) to get that sack/fumble after getting that flag which in itself was a bad call since it was clear he was hurt and there should have been a forced time out by the refs or one called by the Cards to make sure they didn’t give up 5 yards. But heck, it was a great ending to a game. |
