Thanks for all the info guys.

Seems as though anti-fireworks laws are one of those laws that everyone does their best to ignore, like marijuana laws. We see that it's kind of OK in principle, but really, the law is for other people who are idiots, not us.

I could speculate that people are the same about porn, actually. Yes, they'll say, it's terrible, and children shouldn't see it and who knows what perverts it's encouraging. But I use it responsibly... LOL

You know... I still don't really know what a Roman Candle is. We must have had another name for it.

Roman candles are tubes that you sit on the ground (we'll ignore the idiots that think they can hold them in their hands.......) and they fire up into the air with some kind of burst effect when they reach a certain distance/height. roman candles |twinkle |twinkle |twinkle

Ah cool, I know what they are now.

When we let off our last batch of illegal fireworks there were a set of long thin ones like that called "The Gulf War".

Well they are supposed to be illegal in New York, but it always seemed to me that every July 4th sounded like World War II..especially those big banging things they throw in the trash cans...sound like cannons going off.

It's a bit better in Philly...didn't hear so many of them going off...but it seemed that people still had plenty.

I don't like fireworks myself. When I was a kid I accidentally dropped a sparkler in the family box of fireworks we were celebrating Guy Fawkes Day with...they went up like a bomb factory. Have always been a little scared of them since..or maybe I just associate it with the hiding I got from my Dad...hehehehe.

Here in NJ they're illegal, but I can just about walk accross the bridge into PA and get anything all year round. Besides all the big outlet stores that only sell fireworks, they also sell them in gas stations, supermarkets and even WalMart.

My Dad used to sell them when I was a kid, so I always had like 4 gross of M-80's - yay! Those were fun days blowing up fish in the Passiac River - lol!

Now I just get the pretty stuff for my kids
Wife won't have the big stuff.
