you're fighting the wrong war.

let's compare stats shall we...you gather up all the kids killed each year by porn....and I'll do the same for stepparents and drug usage. you want 50 years? how about pelican bay if you're wrong?|shocking|

...well, that's a pretty good side of the argument too, but why clean up the US streets of drugs and not allow parts of our own crooked Gov't to profit from street drug usage (you know, the thing about cocaine or what-not beaing smuggled by US airforce pilots onto a US base not long ago). As for jailing/getting rid of the child beaters, dead-beat parents etc., why put all the lawyers and judges out of a job and prevent them from making shitloads of $$$ from all those cases, of which a growing percentage are beaing thrown back onto the streets, the asswipes get a hand slap and told not to do it again.

Yes, I'm beaing nicely sarcastic, but only to prove one of too many points about this country we live in...it has become corrupted by greed. Greed drives and motivates no matter what one must do to attain wealth or power. Yes, I love my country, but not what it's turning into.

But anyhow...if it meant I was able to stop a child from beaing beaten, r*ped or whatever, you're damned right I would risk my own civil libertys and risk 50 years at Pelican Bay. As for kids killed by porn...the big so called crackdowns on child p*rn is only a small dent in a huge problem, so yeah, porn can be blamed for that. BUT, as for US legit Webmasters who hate that kind of garbage, the US lawyers, judges, daddy Bush and son, Bush Jr., and all the rest of the guilty parties should get their heads out of their behinds and relise we are trying to do our part in keeping kids away from adult oriented content. It might be a small part we all play in this problem, but it's the effort that counts

100% agreed. It's quite 'funny' if ya know what I mean - if I had a 10 year old son, I'd be less concerned (to a degree) if he happened upon a porn site than if I knew my daughter had.

It's just those small number (as per your rotten.com example earlier) of people who want maximum exposure, regardless that get me 'at it' lol. A purposeful click (enquiring minds etc.) as opposed to a click on to a site that portrays itself as something else is .... not quite right (can ya tell my vocabulary is limited to say the least?).

Anyhow, digressing here, to me the proposed thingummyjig is good, it's now down to whether the current US Govt. stretch the letter to fulfil their own agenda(s).

I'm not sure I would ever classify it as good when a government wants to control what words can be used in any situation. Especially when that country and it's government is based on the priciples of democracy and freedom of speech.
