I'm the guy who created this script.

Let me start off by saying this was a one time sale to a select group of people ( i.e. under 20 ) that have this script..

I should also explain what this script does..

It scours the web for videos using PUBLIC api's from various se's like google and yahoo.

In essence it combined the ability of google images google video yahoo images and yahoo video into one search engine.

The content is pulled much the same way google pulls its content for its own se..

with one BIG BIG difference..


Here is an example of my script in action

it links to each image or video directly , in addition it shows a random image/video "inline" as a top result" , under these top results are backlink to the owner of the content.. so im giving credit to each and every owner of the content show inline..

After looking thru the copy i notice this portion was deleted in the copy he was given from the template..

The entire script is template driven so as to allow easy manipulation of the page layout..

There is a built in ability to have certain sites "banned" from being displayed if the need arises.

In cases like this i like to leave it up to the program owner to decide what to do . If someone doesnt want their content displayed honestly we dont need it and isnt worth the hassle , im always glad to not list your media on the site hru the ban database.

but i should remind you , google and yahoo api's are publicly available and being used.. and they DONT give you a backlink , wheras my site does..

Not only was there no back link, it was also hotlinking an image directly from me, not just Google Images. Was that part of the template or did Vegas add that himself?

Also, shall I assume that the dynamic page bearing my domain name, which was posted by your frog-friend, will appear in the SEs after Google (and others) bot this thread? I would consider that injurious to my domain. That single link back, buried on the page, won't count for shit against the excessive use of my domain name in both text and images.

I cant stop google from spidering greenguy nor can i stop them spidering my site. Thats how search engines work. The script is on a test server that has no pages listed in google , it was an example of how the script works, if your truly worried about it , like i said theres a proper way to have your stuff removed from the se's and i'd be appy to work with you , if not thats your choise

Smokey, this is not at all a confusing topic for me. I really don't understand why you feel it necessary to talk down to me.

What I don't want is for surfers to go to Google, type in "mydomainname" (as a compound word, obviously searching for my site) and get YOUR page with it's one BURIED link back. I, and any other reasonable non-cheating webmaster, would perceive that as traffic theft. If a friend links to my site, or mentions my site on theirs, that's fine. But if someone deliberately uses my site's name in order to gain traffic for themselves while creating a potential loss for me, that, I take as a hostile move against my interests.

So I'm left to assume, since you don't care to address the point directly, that your script and the template you created is at fault for directly hotlinking the image from my site, as seen in G's cache of his page. This entire thread is based upon the hotlinking of a single image - which I have since deleted. You can keep taking this thread away from that point, but all it does draw more attention to the fact that Vegas of MadMoolah hotlinked one of my images, most likely due to your less than honest script.

By the way, we are most definately not on the same team. I pride myself in being an honest, hard working webmaster.

You place a txt file in your root directory outlining what folders you dont want to give public access to.

Seems like I pointed that out the link back in the beginning and was called some rather unflattering names for which I am still awaiting an apology.

My guess is that once people begin to see the actual way this script works the vocal minority will fade into the woodwork like all keyboard commandos.
