I'm not sure what the fuck you're talking about fresh, he's 100% absolutely correct. In all the time I've been submitting to HOES I completely overlooked that in the rules. In a hurry I guess. Thanks for pointing that out johnnydoe. I'll get things fixed immediately.

I thoughty something was amiss. I just checked and I have sites listed at HOES that do have consoles. An oversight on their end and mine. But in the future I'll be sure and use the no console tours.

Is this confusion between consoles on your freesite and consoles on the sponsor's site?
It looks like Hoes will list freesites that link to paysites with pop-ups, at their discretion of course, but not to freesites with pop-ups.

Well duuuuh, dumbass me, you're right. Sorry fresh...

I only know of two link lists that decline sites if the sponsor's console tour is nasty. They want to be able to get back to my site with one, maybe two clicks.

You are correct with the above statement.

Just to clarify once and for all. The no console rule applies ONLY to free sites that for some silly reason might want to add a console on one of the pages of their free site. It happens. Go figure.

I don't care and have no control over whether a free site advertises a paysite that happens to use a console.

I will add this though:

From extensive testing (10 years), the use of consoles hurts sales in the long run. I'll say it twice:

Use a console. Lose a surfer.
Use a console. Lose a surfer.

If you want bookmarkers, ditch the popups. If you want to stay in this business and be successful in the long run, lose the popups.

I am more familiar with TGP sites and if they say no consoles or pop-ups...that mean no consoles or pop-ups anywhere. If I am wrong about this I would like to know and I will gladly admit that I am wrong and say that I am sorry for giving bad advice. I will also say that I was wrong to Fresh...which he will relish... print out and frame :-) Hey Marc or Chuck..let me know what your rule means.

Thanks Marc...My bad then on the consoles. I was wrong in my understanding of your rules. I will continue using console free tours myself...I like bookmarkers and the side traffic I get from freesites.

For Fresh...I WAS WRONG about the consoles not being allowed at Hoes. I am actually glad that this came up because I learned something and it has given me an idea that will be quite useful for a project that I am working on. I sincerely thank you for that Fresh.

Hi PinkFloyd...Because we've seen a substantially large increase in FS submissions to our 'Mature' category, we've approached accepting mature sites with a critical eye. Sites with high-quality, exclusive content will have a much better chance at being accepted over other sites with less exclusivity. Another key factor is a site's content uniqueness in relation to other sites submitted to the same category that day.

Hello fresh...If a site is submitted to us with links that are worded in any sort of way that we consider to be misleading, we delete it. That's why we delete free sites with blind links that say "Click Here", "Enter Here", "Click Now", "More Free Pictures", etc. We don't like to see blind links on the warning page or the index page. "Instant Access" is allowed in most cases, but it all depends on the design and where it's placed on the page in relation to the links that take surfers to the free content. For instance, if there's a link reading "Instant Access" in especially large font and placed on the page in a way that makes it difficult for our surfers to find the free content, then we'll delete it.

Excellent explanation of this, Chuck. Misleading links are the most common reason for a free site not being accepted at Hoes.com.

Unmistakeable banner ads typically don't trick a surfer into getting something they didn't expect. When those phrases are combined with good advertising text in a typical banner, it's perfectly ok. It's good advertising actually! It's when the webmaster puts in HUGE TEXT below or above the banner ENTER HERE OR CLICK HERE is when we sometimes have an issue.

"More Free Sites" is fine, Fresh. I'll accept it if you use it. If you have any sites that we've declined where you used it, feel free to resub and we'll make sure it gets trough.
