I'm sure there is someone on your staff that is a coder. Have them add the illegal words into the script each users uses to connect via FTP. You can by extension or size too.

When you say it's too hard (impossible) for you to do it that tells me you are NOT trying to solve anything.

Tornado,
It's been well over 48 hours since Cleo posted those domains.

If you were seriously interested in providing a reputable service allowing your customers to work as partners with TGPs and Link Lists, you would have taken steps with these domains.

You say you want to co-operate, but I don't see any action being taken.

Oh, and the sites should be "dead"... not just giving a 404 page or redirecting. You need to get those things out of your DNS servers and off of your boxes.

Even then, I think you are doomed.

Having illegal domains is more of an example of your attitude then an issue with why this thread was started.

I'm still in shock about AdvancedHosters saying that it was only fantasy rape.

I think trying to get this resolved is like arguing with a wall! I'm sure that Tornado might go through and remove everything illegal for now, but what's to say that once it is done he doesn't turn his back to it again. To even allow sites, with names with rape and inc*st, there in the first place shows the willingness to look the other way. Its all about the $$$. If that's the way he wants to do business, then let him! It will bite him in the ass in the long run!

Koolkat, it isn't just about the domains, it is about a whole attitude that says "anything goes, we don't care" - they only care when link sites and TGPs get together to block their clients, which means they won't make money from the shady businesses they are supporting on their network.

They each made their choices, and now they are having to live with the results of those choices.

Now they can choose to go away, they can choose to go straight and wait for redepemption, or they can scam along again, trying to hide themselves again amoungst the honest people who work in our industry.

We'll see where it goes.

Oh I totally agree. Anyone who would accept things like that in the first place speaks mountains about them as a person. As a parent it infuriates me that someone would even allow someone to exploit things like kiddie porn or rape. If I were a web host I would be so proactive in preventing things like discussed here. Someone should never have to backpeddle to fix a problem like Tornado because it has just come to light! It shouldn't get there in the first place! It is totally understandable why these hosts are blocked from submitting, and legitimate webmasters should follow the advice of the the LL owners (and it might be beneficial for any web hosts to listen too!).

Solutions for hosters...

Hello everybody!

Sorry for the long absence. What a time to comeback to the boards though.

First off, HQ has been in our TGP's blacklist for well over a year. There are several others that have been as well. When you go from 1700 submissions a day to 100-300 and the cheaters fall by the same percentage, that is a definite indicator that you have done the right thing.

It is not true that there is nothing a host can do about this. Not true at all. I am not going to call bullshit on that one, I am going to yodel bullshit on that one.

I hope that Tornado and the guy from advanced hosting will consider implementing some of these ideas:

A simple script that runs on every box you host. It's function would be to sample apache log files looking for 302 redirect errors. When a domain generates excessive 302's there is only ONE reason for it. Have the script disable their account.

A good programmer could write that in an hour in your choice of languages.

Think about it. When a domain goes from 0 302 errors to 20,000 302 errors in one day, it should be really easy to tell what they are doing.

So how do you make sure they don't disable the script on their box? Simple, have the script ping one of your servers on a special port. Any box not reporting will be disable at the switch. Problem solved.

I believe you should be able to easily be able to ban .rape -rape and dozens of other words at your DNS. That would help.

A program triggered by a cron job can be set on every box that will search for bad words/files once per day. If you do it right, and make it so that it cannot be disabled without your knowledge, you will have no problem with finding people abusing your network.

If you have a customer ask for new IPs and want to give up their old ones, then they are cheating. There is no other reason. Get rid of them.

Monitor your mail stats. If a domain gets 1000 bounced messages returned in a day, then they are spamming. It really is that simple. Have a script turn them off. No problem at all.

Among the bad files it should search for would be the executable files for force404, as that is what most of the cheaters are using.

By the way, somebody should go register force404, since they let it lapse and it is available.

There are other ideas as well, but they don't come free. Let us see what you do with these.

I would very much like to see you pull your host out of the hole it is in. It would improve the internet for everyone. If you don't realize it, a great amount of the browser hijacking and auto-installer crap on the net comes from YOUR service.

Your pricing is good, and you could attract plenty of new business if your company didn't have such a bad reputation.

If you have any questions, let me know.

To everyone else, Hello again!

Mr. H.

Why am domains are I banded!

I almost forgot...

Iceworld, you are probably banned for submitting sites that have bad descriptions, bad category selection, etc. I know english is hard to learn, but you wouldn't buy from me if my russian were as bad as your english, would you?

skygsi, you are banned because your sponsors have banned you for cheating. Anyone doesn't believe me, go to:

http://www.pornolymp.com/chanel-amateur-hardcore/adult/

... which HE posted and click on the camel toe sponsor. You should see a message like this:

"This link has been terminated!

Please press "BACK" or type in a new destination to leave this web page.

If you received an e-mail with a hyperlink that terminated to this page, then the e-mail was not authorized, but was sent by a webmaster enrolled in one of our programs.
Since unsolicited e-mail is against our Terms & Conditions, their marketing link has been redirected to this page. Please contact spam@trafficcashgold.com if you have any questions.
Our Acceptable Use Policy can be reviewed at http://www.trafficcashgold.com/tcg_terms.htm."

So, why should I list your sites if your sponsor turned you off for cheating or abuse?

This is not rocket science.

I understand that things are bad in Russia, between the mafia and the economy it is probably very bad to try and make a living there. I am sorry things are the way they are.

HOWEVER, you must realize that we can't accept the way things are coming out of Russia. You should try running an english tgp for awhile. You would ban all Russians right away. It really is that bad, ok? Coming in here and telling us how we are all going out of business for banning hosts, or not accepting submissions from Russia is really pointless and kind of stupid.

I may be going out of business because IBill fucked us... Hell, in a couple weeks, we could be homeless. Guess what? I have had every Russian IP address assigned to a Russian ISP banned for over a year, and several of the worst hosts on the web... It hasn't done anything but make my life better.

If you had come in and asked what you could do to get listed again, you probably would have recieved some help. Instead you chose to bitch.

Coming in here and telling us how wrong we all are is stupid, pointless and we are having a good laugh so please post some more, ok?

Mr. H.

Thank you. I got so worked up about this that I forgot to mention Advanced actually killed an account when I reported a cheater once. Something HQ did not do.

If you use some of these ideas, I think you have a chance to do well. I did not ban your ip ranges because you responded when I had a problem.

Let me know how you do,

Mr. H.

Howdy Cleo,

That is a good point. I totally missed that post. I believe he asked if it was legal or not. As you know, any bondage + intercourse = illegal. So the answer would be no it is not legal, since the "models" are usually bound or held down from what I have seen. With the knowledge that in the USA that is illegal, we will find out what kind of person he is by how he responds to this information which does answer his original question.

I have some pretty strong feelings on the subject of |skull| rape. |skull| We probably shouldn't go there now so as to avoid de-railing the thread. It deserves a thread of it's own.

Thanks for pointing out that I missed that.

Hey MrHackula

The problems with your 302 scenario are as follows:

1 - there are legit reason for 302 - I have some on my domains right now.

2 - it's not "against the law" to 302 a site/page - it may be against TGP's & Link List's rules, but we can't really expect the hosts to inforce our rules.

Yo GreenGuy!

I can appreciate that there are reasons for 302 use... I have several in places. The beauty of it is the number see example:

day1: Pages served 70,000. 302s=64/24=2.7 per hour
day2: Pages served 70,000. 302s=64,000/24=2,667 per hour

What are the odds of that by accident or normal course of events?

I have a more advanced formula in mind, but they aren't getting it for free even if they would implement it.

As for the fact that it isn't against the law, I don't know that it has to be. Consider what is happening with HQ. Once everybody simplifies their life by blocking every IP range they have access to they are really hurting. As such, it seems in their best interest to control the serious troublemakers that they host.

Here's the really funny thing: They don't want the 302 freaks anyway. They only serve real sites for a day, after that it is all redirects which are almost ZERO bandwidth. The hosts can't make money on these bastards, so they aren't going to want them there.

It really is in their best interest to implement a system to boot these abusers. No law required, and nothing to do with our rules.

A pleasure to talk again,

Mr. H.

I know...he's missing the whole point. It doesn't matter if it's legal or not. Putting up spyware, pop ups, redirects aren't illegal either, but they're not something the LL owners should have to deal with.

Why should you take the time to contact the host for every LL cheater you find when they haven't violated the host's TOS?

I'm not even a LL owner & I get it! I used to have a dedicated box at Rackshack & moved because that host was banned by a couple of big TGPs. Don't want to play by the LL rules, don't submit. But don't make a 7 page thread whining about it!

Re: Re: Solutions for hosters...

Hello Fonz,

That is a good point. A very simple fix would be to monitor the Outgoing VS Incoming returned messages. You detect a ratio that is wonky and you would be fairly confident. Compare the message IDs on the bounces with the IDs on the messages sent and you would be certain. All this could be automated.

Mr. H.

MrHackula,

Sincere respect!!!

Will do it now.
There are 4 programmers in our staff and they'll settle this problem very soon. The very problem is that we are not adult hosting. To be more exact, not purely adult. Some aspects are vague for me.

Tommy, I already said sorry.. candidly!!

Real sense of aforesaid is in following: great number of customers will never remove anywhere by many reasons. Main reason is quality. Our company works 24/7 all over the weekends and holidays. Our support team will settle your problems in a moment. Our bandwidths are rapid and our prices are at most affordable. Everyone knows only our best traits.

Many of our customers ask for DNS change. Or to add new DNS. Certainly we can do it. These DNS may be located in three US datacenters. They can be located there but it doesn't mean WILL BE LOCATED! They won't be located there!
We don't want to change IP addresses from time to time. We'd like to settle this problem last and all the time. Maybe each thread of this forum has its own settlement methods but I've first heard about them from MrHackula.

I'm happy to deal with sympathetic people.

As for some domains which aren't deleted still I'd like to say we can't do it rapidly cause they're our customers dedicated servers. But as I've said earlier this problem will be settled within the next few days.
