Simple Tags plugin not working in syndicated posts?

So I've been fighting with my latest blog creation We-R-Sluts half the night. When I've finally found a combination of a WP version and a syndication plugin that actually work together, the Simple Tags plugin refuses to work in syndicated posts. For the life of me I can't see any good reason why it should make a difference, but maybe a guru out there has a suggestion. |confused|

And yeah, I know UTW is supposed to be the ultimate in tagging, but it's just too fucking complicated for me and I don't understand it!
