Uh, Easter derives from a very old spring pagan ritual, and Christmas itself has a strong pagan root. Many pagan groups had celebrations for the new year as well as for the beginning of seasons. It is All Hallow's Eve, or the time when the barrier between the spirit world and mortal worlds are at their closest. Any coincidence that the Catholics celebrate All Saint's day on November 1st? As it is a holy day of obligation among the devout, it always struck me odd. But then, I am a pagan.
Rather than focus on mystical meanings and whatnot, kick back, have fun, and be a kid again!! Be silly, don't think heavy thoughts. In modern America, it is a huge holiday among adults for some unknown reason. JUST GIMME THE CHOCOLATE and nobody gets hurt! |bat| Quote:
