cant remember the name of the legal term
Wife has a site stealing her vid and posting it. I know there is a letter I can write to start this process of removal that I read here once. But don't know it and searched for still could not find it. What's the name of the letter. Thanks..

You want to send a "DMCA" notice. In the past you could find samples in SEs but I didn't take a look today.

Yeah that DC one works nicely. I used it before with success. Thing is the vid was not taken from my site. Its from another site she works on. This happened in the past and when I contacted them they did not seem to care. I sent the site the letter and they removed the vid. Thanks guys time to DL that puppy.

DMCA works good for sending to the operator of the site, the registrar of the domain, and the hosting company.
If its listed in Google, you can also send a DMCA to them to remove the search listings for the page that contains it http://www.google.com/dmca.html An example format for a letter can be found at http://www.chillingeffects.org/dmca5...?NoticeID=1501 |

A DMCA claim is often overkill. It's like sending a lynch mob for someone walking on your grass.
In no way do I advocate copyright theft, but an email or even cease & desist just seems a more civilized (and professional) way to do business. DMCA claims may feel satisfying, but they affect many more people than just yourself and the one you have an issue with. It costs people a lot of time and money for being caught in the middle, when a simple note or phone call could achieve results faster. The DMCA was designed as recourse when other methods fail. Without even attempting less severe methods, you come across as a hothead and pain in the ass to everyone along the way. |

A woman is like beer. They look good, they smell good, and you'd step over your own mother just to get one!

Have your lawyer send them a C & D. If you don't have one, ours is located in Central Jersey (see sig)... otherwise hit me up at jay at ynot dot com.
