I allways thought that it was that stupid thing or this dumb thing

Life is good
|
I'll let you know whenever I make it.
To this point I haven't had a major life changing decision. Though I've made some good ones and bad too. Last edited by Ramster; 2003-09-02 at 06:01 AM.. |

Took the hint.

Best decision was when I walked into the Human Resources department at my real job (in 97) and told them that "this job has become and 8 hour interruption in my day"... was already making more in porn at night then I was being mid to upper management during the day.

After she was diagnosed with brain tumor I decided not to leave mom like a pack or something in a hospital but to take care of her... and became a freelancer 2 yr ago. Most people still call me an idiot.. wondering what their kids are learning from them.

Well you know boys, a nuclear reactor is a lot like women. You just have to read the manual and press the right button
|
I guess my most important was ... hmm.. guess it was sticking by my girlfriend after she got a huge depresion. Waiting for her after she dumbed me due to her illness ( couldt even get out of the bed - nor having a realtionship becouse she felt ulgy in heart, mind and body ). Now a year later she's getting much much better ( getting help ) and she is carrying my first baby. although it was a mistake we decided to keep it and now its a wish child
T - 60 days and counting

The decision to leave a self destructive life behind and be a positive male figure in the life of my beautiful baby girl and the loving woman who blessed with her hand in marriage.

No matter how good you are at something, there's always about a million people better than you
|
Best thing I ever did was quit smoking pot. You don't realize how much it fogs your mind and controls your life until you are clean for a few years.. I am on year #6

NO! Im not a female - but being a dragon, I do eat them.
|
Not ass-kissing here (and he knows it) but listening to Tommy and Barb - I re-read their old threads all the time on another board to help me with kicking the smokes cause I have a choice of doing it or having oprn heart surgery
Of course this was the second time I listened to him...the first time he wont remember, but there were 2 "newbies" one who's not doing this anymore that used to work for him, and me...the other half of the "we know how to do this better than you experienced fuckers" team on another board long ago....till we got it kicked into our heads that we didnt know shit..... The other person that helped me and still doesnt know what a change he made in my life (as well as quite a few others here) runs this board...and unknowingly helped me make the final decision to make this career what it is now the last big decision I made was fired by somebody else here that got through my thick skull some info about SEs...he knows who it is....and did it without any worries about thanks...just told me to give back when I could....and now I have been since I can Last edited by Linkster; 2003-09-02 at 04:10 PM.. |

Aw, Dad, you've done a lot of great things, but you're a very old man, and old people are useless
|
The greatest decision I feel that I have made was to allow my girlfriend's niece to come live with us while her mother is in prison. The ironic part of this is the simple fact that I did/do NOT want kids. We got the baby when it was 4 days old (born in prison), and we have had her almost 2 years now. The mom is suppose to be out in a month or so, yet she is going to live with us so that the little girl can get "use" to her. It is going to be hard when they leave, but knowing that I played a part in keeping her from being fosterd/adopted away from her mother makes it worth it.

I can't really think of any one thing that I would say was the most important decision of my life. Life is a quest and as such it is more about choosing the correct path in one's daily life. Sometimes I've gone down the wrong path, but for the most part I'm pretty happy with the direction in life I've gone. To say that some one event was the pinnacle decision of my life would be saying that this life experience is half over and I more look at it as a journey that is infinite.

I have to agree with Tommy quit smoking (even if it's only for 11 days now)
Everyone who wants to stop I really advice the book from Allen Carr. (don't know the enlish title of the book but here is his site http://www.allencarrseasyway.ca/). This book is really great and makes it easy to stop. Why? because of the method he uses... Instead of telling you that it is not good for your health and all the thing we all know this book makes you see the whole process of smoking... What a sad habbit it actually is. One example he uses; while his daughter got married he was only thinking how long the whole church thing would last so he could smoke his cigarette... My grandfather died a few weeks ago and to be honest during the funeral I actually thought the same thing (I know it's nothing to be proud of but it's the truth). This book will really change your point of view and instead of fealing that you sacrifice the smoking you will really feel relieved from a thing that has you in his power.

The biggest decisions aren't necessarily the right decision. I've made some big decisions in my life that I might change if I had it to do over.

The biggest decision: selling my sucessful business in Germany |blowkiss|
(In hindsight I did it a year or two too early - from the financial point of view), leaving all friends behind, and migrating to Australia |cool|

Although I believe all decisions are tied to each other in one way or another, i cant really say there is just one that makes it the Biggest or the Best. Getting Married, having my son, my daughter, taking business chances and having the support from loved ones to do so. They all go together for me. |rasta|
