TGP Trades & General Questions
OK I am looking at getting my tgp back up and rolling again here soon. I am curious what you tgp owners think the best way to build traffic is. I have heard from some who say you don't skim any of the gallery links, while others say skim 50% or more to build the traffic. What do you guys think?
Also what trade scripts and TGP management scripts do you like. I think I own licenses to Comus, the JMB one and TGP Devil. I also have a license to TM3 but I have never had good luck with it in the past for trading. Any advice you can give me would be great, just looking to keep growing my list of sites. EDIT: Also do you think text link or thumb link TGP is converting the best? With the new 2257 stuff I was thinking about going text link. Andy |

Call me old fashioned but I like good old static trades skimming Cj or what ever you want to call it don't seem right to me.

I'm another vote against traffic trading scripts. It only serves to up your site with what I refer to as 'empty hits'. Your traffic counts will look impressive, but your wallet will be empty and your surfers won't bookmark.
I use text links instead thumbs for two reasons. Quick loading pages and excellent SE spider food. Since I rebuilt a TGP that I had abandoned into stagnation, my traffic is low. But my search engine hits are increasing daily. I use long nice long descriptions to both entice the surfers and to feed the bots. I used to run trade scripts on both TGPs, but I was getting hit by the hit bots and no one was clicking a damn thing.

I would only offer this. The quality of traffic depends on who you trade with. If your trades are with reputable well known tgps then it does not matter. I do about half blind from pics and half text link and I have gone from 3500 uniques a day in december to 13,500 a day today

Call me lazy but I like a script with just a little skim. Just makes everything pretty much automatic.

To get it up and going you need some traffic to start with!
If you can send it from one of your own sites, or have some decent 404-traffic, that'll be probably the go! With purchased traffic I had not such good experience, even on a CJ site with only 25% skim: my traffic (and outgoing clicks!) went up as the traffic was coming in, once it stopped the slump was so sudden that all trades needed 4-5 days to recover... People bookmark a lot more if you don't skim (as I do on my second site)! Trades won't start either if you're only relying on skimming - you need some traffic to get started People won't return if you skim 50%, or even only 40%... If your ratio is ~75% to galleries, and the galleries are good, people are coming back... You can still use the trade script TM3 to manage in-and-outgoing links and your toplist.
