Mr Yum, it is truly the thing I find the most sad in dealing with people in this business for the last (almost) 10 years - there are a remarkable number of people in the adult business that would steal from their father and put nude pictures of their mother getting fucked by a dog on the net if they thought there was $5 to be made.

It makes me wonder how these people would handle themselves if they had to work with the models directly. Without morals, you know, anything would be possible.

It is not even about morally wrong - it is about being shown that there is an issue and turning a blind eye saying "so what" or "that was last week" or whatever. Tortus might have joined that program without knowledge, but presented with the facts and situation might have chosen another path besides "thanks for fucking up by business".

A PM in this case wouldn't do a thing to remind other potential buyers that adbrite supports the type of sites that steal directly from us all. This business is hard enough to compete in, without having to compete against people who steal content and bandwidth. Having a company like AVN / Adbrite support these people is just another slap in the face from the company that is suppose to be near the forefront of our indsutry.

Wow people... I have "morals". I made that, "mmm" comment because I have been buying AVNads for a long time and didn't find out about this fusker thing with them until yesterday. I don't have the option to stop all ads overnight because of the amount of money involved.

So nobody here has any ads in the AVN mags or online? I bet every link list here promotes sponsors that do run ads in AVN mags and online. And how many of you are promoting sponsors (or directly) that use Streamray and Friendfinder sites in their members area? I sure have read a lot of posts where fusker sites have accounts there too.

How many of you run Google adwords accounts? Google sure accepts quit a few scraper sites in their adsence network.

How many Link Lists here cut and paste links from the big Link Lists. My stats show quit a few do.

Should we all get a morality check or what am I missing here?

I promote a sponsor that buys ad space from a company the is partners in a business that manages ad space for a company that steals bandwidth and content.

If you read the other threads, you will see that I have taken sponsors and AVN itself to task on the issue, and now Adbrite is no longer the Fusker ad sales channel of choice (they use engage now, I think).

There is one sponsor I use a fair bit right now that not so quietly uses Guba and Fusker type sites to promote their business. Even when the issues have been pointed out, they continue. I am in the process of dropping that sponsor, in the manner that I don't promote AFF or knowingly link to free sites or galleries that promote them.

I can have morals and still work in this business. You might want to try it

As for the phone sex line thing, would you just say "that's nice"? Would you be happy is someone wrote spyware that redirect 50% of your page surfers to another site? Would that be acceptable, because it is only a little theft? Would 60% make it worse?

suddenlysex - the majority of this board - Jim & myself included - are very anti-AVN. AVN is great for the video community, but they stink as far as webmasters & their people have agreed with us on things like the Vegas Internext convention, which by their own admission is not for webmasters.

That being said, I do not use Adbrite & I try to not link to sites that promote them, mostly because they allowed fusker & others to use them before legit webmasters bitched about it & they dragged their feet after they were called out on it.

Sites like fusker would close if they had no revenue coming it, so it only makes sense for legit webmasters to shun them & those who support them.

It's one thing to promote one of those sponsors unknowingly. It's something else entirely to be informed about the issues and choose to continue doing so...and then play it off as though morals don't matter in this business because it's PORN.

It's been my experience that morals and ethics are pretty closely tied to one another. If a person is bereft of one, they're most likely lacking in both. In my opinion, that's a person to be avoided by honest, ethical business people who treat the adult industry as a business.

Thanks for making that clear for me Greenguy. My main industry that I promote is much different than you, jim and the board for sure. So the fusker looser sites don't really have the same impact on me as your link list sites.

I don't come here much so I'm not up to speed on the fusker bullchit. But man, Rawalex was right about the phone sex scrapers that hit my industry in the face. I've been ripped big time more than once (much more ;(

This is a good example how adult boards like this help (us) Webmasters
grow and become successful. I'm not the one that came here trying to get paid advertisements from anyone through the AVN network. I just came here and discovered a big fusker deal about it and thought, holy-shit I've been dealing with AVN for a long time what's going on?"
