Does Google Like Updates?
My link list, Girls That Squirt, has some text with keywords that are relevant to the site's topic, squirting. When Google crawls my page, does it compare the page to a page in Google's cache and look for changes? Does Google like updates and changes? If I have good positions for certain keywords should I leave well enough alone and not tinker with it or would constant changes help insure I keep the positions I already have?

Don't get discouraged; it's usually the last key that opens the lock...

Licker, IMO Google does want updated pages in their index. I have long believed there is some sorta update boost (rather than a penalty) for Google. From my experience, updating your pages a little with updated content will not hurt your listings. I will give you an example...
I owned the #1 spot for pornsites in Google for a while and I was constantly updating my index and still do. Eventually I lost the listing, but it wasn't because of updating my site. Just my .02. |

Where there's a will, I want to be in it.

I agree with Lowry. I think if you have pages that are ranking well and you don't update them, they'll go away. Google wants to rank pages that are providing their surfers with fresh content.
Look at hoes.com. Good rankings all over the place, and constant updates to the pages when freesites are added daily.

Google used to use page staleness as a factor when putting pages into the supplemental bin, according to Dave Crow, the head of Google's crawl team, so yeah, I assume its a factor Google keeps an eye on.

Based on my experience I'd say yeah. I do next to nothing with SEO but the sites that are updated daily get the rankings.

google always weighs updated and new pages heavier. If you make a new page or a new post on a site expect it to be indexed quickly and drop in ranking with the next major google update.

"So, Dave, what do you do?"
"I'm the head of Google's Crawl Team." "Wow. That must be rough on your knees. Who do you guys compete against?"
