CCBill Sponsor Wants My Affiliate Code?

I got a message from the affiliate manager of a CCBill program that I am signed up with. Mind you, I don't send a huge amount of traffic to them, but the affiliate manager wanted to know if I no longer need my affiliate number with them. I was hoping some of you more learned about CCBill programs could explain why they would even ask such a thing?

[13:46] Affiliate Manager: This is Affiliate Manager at XXXXXX.com and I am inquiring about the status of your XXXXXX.com promotion ( ID# *******)...
( this is were she lists all the program tools I should be using )
If you no longer are in need of this ID number please inform me.

Perhaps just an off the wall approach to getting inactive accounts to take another look at promoting their program.

Preacher, I got that identical ICQ message too, along with an authorization request to add to the sender's list. Seven minutes later I okayed the request and sent back a message saying thanks for the info and that I'd take a look sometime. Got nothing back, not then, not all day. So yes, I think it's just a mild pressure tactic and unfortunately sent out by a bot it seems.

Damn shame. I wanted to see if they could help improve my current 1:2,736 ratio. (Note: not a reliable number yet since I've only sent them around 5,500 uniques.)

Still, it's better than one gay program which sent me an email saying my account was terminated since I hadn't sent them any traffic in a couple of months. I guess they don't know we sometimes sign up for programs months ahead of when we actually start promoting them. But they didn't ask and I never bothered to let them know why.

You know, Simon, that same thing happened to me with NicheCastle. I signed up less than a month ago, and they dropped me 'cuz I didn't send any traffic. Hell, I didn't even download any content, yet...give me a chance to figure my next move. From what I've seen, the adult internet world is alot like chess. I'm just trying to figure out moves 3 steps ahead. And I'm just a pup learning the ropes.

Just in case there are some CCBill sponsors reading this, I'll tell a relevant tale.

I signed up for a sponsor back in 2005. Once signed up they had no promo content for download or FHG's, just banners. I didn't have time to email the site owner/webmaster to get content etc. so I just moved on to other sponsors.

Today I get an email from this sponsor with a link to new hosted galleries. Great looking fetish photography, which is why I signed up to begin with. The galleries are now in the queue, waiting to be added to my sites.

Sometimes it just takes some time before all the pieces fall into place.

Also, you may have signed up to use them as a referring tool, ie you don't have traffic in that particular niche, but the site looks good, and you link to the webmaster program so that others who have that traffic can glean sales, which you of course earn a %age of. I've heard of sponsors that delete 'inactive' accounts. What if the guy(s) you sent are making good sales a year down the line, but you personally aren't sending traffic/sales? IMO you should in no way be kicked off a program for inactivity for that reason alone.

What does that even mean?

Does this person believe they have the power to cycle your ID number over to a more worthy, perhaps better endowed, affiliate?

Is CCBill's number generator so close to reaching infinity that this sponsor now fears a shortage of good affiliate IDs in the near future?

Would he/she retire your ID number so that no other affiliate could be cursed with it in the future, since it's obvious that that particular number is the cause of you not sending sufficient traffic?

Have they ever seen a grown man naked?

Other than the response I PM'd you previous to this thread's birth (about getting blown by a retard) I would have replied, "If I let you have this ID number, will you give me one that will make your program convert better?" (And then I'd add the line about oral sex/mental handicap.)

I have done this...simply because I didnt own the account the affiliate program was through, so i had no clue what ID belonged to whom. Therefore, I asked them all so I could know who was sending sales and traffic, as well as make them custom tools like galleries and consoles for my live shows. I just needed it to make them more customized.

My experiences with ccbill have not been very good to say the least. I am not saying they shave, but the ratios are sickening. Also, they are absolute nazis when it comes to CS. Not a friendly bunch in my experiences with them.

Get a grip, you're losing touch with reality. CCBill shave? Not a chance. Now they do have a bit more aggressive scrub than some other processors, but that check arrives in my mail week after week after week after week, and I have no concerns about it continuing to do so.

my experiences with them are the exact opposite. I can't recall anytime I ever called their 24/7 support line for clients and didn't get treated with anything but courtesy and professionalism.
