The next race is of course the following Sunday Feb 20th - the Daytona 500

Happy racing :)

MrMaryLou 2005-02-11 07:47 AM

Hell ya I am so ready for NASCAR!!!!!!!!! Turn Left Baby :)

Useless 2005-02-11 08:45 AM

Ya know, I'm not a fan of any sport. (Though I love watching womens beach volleyball. Yum.) I just can't get excited about watching others play a game. But for whatever odd reason, my wife and I can sit and watch NASCAR and enjoy it. I'm still like a little b*y though. Can't wait for the next spin out or fender bender.

Yell 2005-02-11 08:58 AM

Hell ya!
He tuns left oh and he turns left again and he passes the little fag in the #24 car. :D
I go every year on this date.

I like Nascar and usually watch the Daytona but not much else. I'll be watching that race again for sure.

Greenguy 2005-02-11 09:05 AM

Ohhh - so that's when the Bud Shootout is - LOL - see, I'm still learning :D

MrMaryLou 2005-02-11 09:09 AM

NASCAR lessons will commence soon :)

PR_Tom 2005-02-11 09:41 AM

Yep! Primed and ready for it :) I'll watch races more than anything else on Sundays from here on out.

cockNballs 2005-02-11 09:43 AM

Knight 2005-02-11 10:45 AM

Theres something about that 24 that just turns my stomach - guess its the part about how he can talk and without skipping a beat get the names pepsi and dupont in every sentence - what a whore

PR_Tom 2005-02-11 12:17 PM

haha, yeah people love to hate him!
I hope there's some good new faces around this year.. gotta love those rookies for good and bad reasons, lol.

Jim 2005-02-11 12:17 PM

I'm sorry to say, it is just a touch too redneck for my liking. Just curious...How many Black drivers are there? I really have no idea.

PR_Tom 2005-02-11 12:22 PM

Last black driver I remember seeing was Willie T. Ribs (not sure I spelled it right).
I think he did a short stint in nascar.. but was mostly a road course driver, good too. He would get up on the roof and dance when he won, lol.

Jim 2005-02-11 12:29 PM

Really??? As of right now, there are no black drivers?

MrMaryLou 2005-02-11 12:34 PM

As of now no, but I heard that there are a few black teams being formed. Nascar is working on closing the gap

Kind of like the Negro League in Baseball back in 1920, huh? I think I will wait :)

Greenguy 2005-02-11 01:19 PM

Jim - I'm really surprised that you have a grudge against Nascar, since your county is one of those "red" ones during elections :D

Jim 2005-02-11 01:54 PM

I live around a bunch of morons. And, among them, plenty of nascar fans :)

Chop Smith 2005-02-11 02:28 PM

You might be a redneck if you refer to non-NASCAR fans as "Democrat ball suckers"

This is what a real NASCAR fan from Greenville, MS has to say

Jim 2005-02-11 02:56 PM

I didn't notice until now Chop but it looks to me like Greenie is saying NASCAR is a Republican type sport. Am I reading that right?

Chop Smith 2005-02-11 03:02 PM

Jim, I think in a round about way that is what the NASCAR fan interviewed stated.

Useless 2005-02-11 06:17 PM

I saw a black leather with red beading Nascar couch yesterday at a local furniture store for $1800. I may have to sell my home and move to another community.

Mr. Blue 2005-02-11 06:31 PM

All I'm saying, NY City taxi drivers make Nascar drivers look like Pussies...so, until they have Nascar racing on a busy NYC street I won't be interested.

My point was that one would think that someone living in a "red" area of the State would be influenced by them just a bit :D

I'm looking forward to the race tonight & the big race next weekend. So is Dayton just one big party for the next week?

OK - have to do it :)

You Might Be A NASCAR Redneck If. . . . . .

You think the last four words of the National Anthem are "Gentleman
start your engines!"....

You think heaven looks a lot like Daytona Beach, Florida....

You've ever written Richard Petty's name on a presidential ballot....

You're not actually able to read The Richard Petty Story, but you sure
do like to look at the pictures....

You have the word NASCAR in your wedding vows....

You go to a stock car race and don't need a program....

You have a lifesize cutout of Dale Earnhardt in your Living Room....

You know who is actually leading the Winston Cup series....

Your favorite NASCAR souvenir was a direct result of a crash in turn
three....

You spell out NASCAR in Christmas lights....

You can remember the entire NASCAR series schedule but can't remember
your wifes birthday, kids birthday, or anniversary....

You can remember every NASCAR driver and their car number but can't
remember how old your children are....

You think the most effective form of advertising is on the side of a car
going 200 mph.....round and round and round....

The word "Bank" makes you think of turn three at Daytona....

Your wife's nickname is "Lugnut"....

You've spent more time on the top of a Winnebago than in one....

You know the "Back way" to Talledega....

A few more for your morning:

Course - had to post a pic of my new SUV - I figure if GG could get one I had to too :)

Jim 2005-02-12 09:05 AM

Nice Linkster :)

So, if all Republicans are Rednecks and all Rednecks are NASCAR fans, are all NASCAR fans, Republicans? :)

Greenguy 2005-02-12 09:14 AM

http://www.cnn.com/ELECTION/2004/pag.../P/00/map.html

Which of those Red County's is yours again?

I know which Blue County I live in :D

Linkster 2005-02-12 09:20 AM

Ya know the funny part of this is that the states that most of the Nascar fans are in used to be purely democratic - democrats were pure labor, down home, union and grassroots wheras the repubs always represented the corporate, heads of the businesses the rednecks worked for - and were solidly voting democratic for years.

MrMaryLou 2005-02-12 10:05 AM

Turn Left Baby :)
