My question is what is the rate of return on investment for these type of domain names? Does anyone know the original sale price for these domains? Does anyone know of a source besides dnjournal for domain sale prices?

If you buy an apartment complex for $500,000 you might expect an ___% return on your investment. If you buy GetMovies.com $75,000 what sort of ROI can you expect?

Follow up question: Boats.org sells last week for $50,000. Why are these generic domain names selling for such significant sums of money?

Thanks in advance.
Wrestling.com sold for $500,000 and wifi.com went for 225,000.
Alot of TLDs besides .coms have been going for good bucks lately.

Dot Infos=reports.info $1,250, law.info $8,495, usawi.info $4000.00,
monkey.info $1,653, Leather.info - 5000 EURO ($5,870.02 US),
blogger.info $2,000, Newyork.info $27,000, bdi.info $14,796,
manhattan.info $1300 sedo then was resold for $4,000 on dnforum!

Why are these generic domain names selling for such

Because getting a good .com is like hitting the Lottery and every
Biz is getting a website so either the Bizzz is reging them or a domain trader is stashing them.

A major Media group is filling the air on TV with Zap2it.com and it's
picked up close to 3,000,000 listings in Google in a few months..
Watch any domain with Zap2 in it go up in price, Like
Zap2hotels.com, zap2travel.com, zap2autos.com or zap2vegas.com
for instance..
