This isn't just 10,000+ it's almost 30,000 ft and there just ain't no oxygen up there. Basically you're slowly dieing once you get above about 20,000 ft. no matter what you do. Pilots have to have to use oxygen at 10,000 ft. and the atmosphere is much thinner on Everest.

After reading "Into Thin Air" (a sobering account of a disaster on the mountain) I can understand people leaving some trash behind. Some of them can't bring themselves down and die while most people get some help after reaching the summit.

Still I think people need to be responsible for what they leave.

The trash at a beautiful river filled with steelhead, 2 years of trash collection would be an appropriate punishment for the low life scumbags there.
