Been thinking of adding links to a Flash player so that the QuickTime haters will stop bitching about needing it to play mp4 files.
Assuming your mp4 files are h.264 encoded...
Flash now plays mp4 files so all you have to do is link to your existing mp4 file inside of a player you build using something like Flash or something like
JW Player.
Adobe Media PLayer is a nice stand alone player that in addition to playing flash plays mp4 files.
How many are using the mv4 files extension for the iPod & iPhone vids?
