I think a lot of people don't realize that there has been two very different OSs for the Mac that look similar. There was the Mac Classic OS that was never hacked and Mac OS X which is basically a collection of open source *nix software that Apple has given a Mac look and feel to.

Also the headline makes it look like all these browsers were hacked in one day but the reality is the hackers had months to refine their hacks for this event.

I am curious if the Safari for the iPhone that was hacked was on an unlocked iPhone since there have been a few reports of unlocked iPhones being hacked.

There are very few details about any of the hacks like if it was on a Mac running as an admin account or not. I have three Macs in my house, kitchen, den and living room that I run as non admin accounts so that people coming over to my house can use without being able to do any harm to them and so far, dispute stoned friends using them, nothing bad has ever happened to any of them.

In any event other than in these proof of concept hacking events there hasn't been any real world issues and zero Mac viruses.
