Kidney specialist appointment today. As I arrived he shook my hand and said it was good to see me in a way that made me think he meant "Oh good, you're not dead yet." He has changed my meds around because he thinks the diabetes medicine is hastening the kidney collapse (oh goody). I've had to drop one lot of pills but doubled the dose of two other types of pill, so I'm still swallowing the same sized bucket of chemicals twice a day!

On the plus side, my favourite butcher had overestimated demand and made too many of the high quality Cumberland sausages, so was selling them off at the price of the cheap ones. I bought 5 LBS of them, had some for lunch, and am freezing the rest. He also sold me a whole load of cheap pig (reduced in price for the same reason). So I'm alright for pork products at the moment!
