Basically, when G is off sick, no one else can be bothered to start one, the lazy bastards.
I was just looking at the past thread of the day threads and realised not only how few there were, but on the days that someone actually bothered to start one, it was most often me - and I am the least chatty person I know.
Occasionally I look at the "who is online" bit at the bottom of the board pages and often I see names I don't know, people who have registered but cannot be arsed to ever post. Worse still, the majority are just "guests", people too lazy to even register, let alone post anything!
In other words, the problem is that most people here are just lazy lurkers, leaching off the board. They are happy to pick up any tips they can from the business boards, and keen to live vicariously through the few people who do actually post on the chat board. But actually contribute? Actually get of their useless lazy asses and post something? No way!
The saddest thing is that G mostly keeps this board running now it is a solo board (and to be honest he did most of the work when there were two of them) and a lot of us benefited from his work. But when he is ill, how many come to his aid? How many help keep his board going?
And it is not just the bone idle lurkers who are to blame. Sure they are just leaching, but then they always leached. No point in expecting a bottom feeder to rise up the tank when needed, scum always remains in the depths (to mix my metaphors). Take a look at the board a few months ago, see how many people there were then. Look at G's first explanation thread, see how many posted a "sorry the hear that" message. But how many are still here posting? And how many bothered to start a "thread of the day" thread? Or start any other thread? Nahh, most just sit on their fat backsides and wait for G to get better and start the threads for them.
Lazy, useless, fair weather "friends".
