It is "kind of silly" but that is the point of movies like that. If you want serious, ignore it, but if you like silly, then this is a good movie!

I find too much hype kills a movie for me because I end up expecting too much. For example I enjoyed Men In Black 2 a lot more than Men In Black 1 because the first film had so much hype that it was never going to be as good as I was expected - disappointment was guaranteed. But everyone said the second film was not good, so I was expecting little and got more than I expected. (Plus, of course, the second film had the pug dog leaning out of the car window singing "I Will Survive").

When I was a kid, Marvel UK were re-publishing classic era Marvel stories in weekly instalments. They had just one comic but with three stories in it, published weekly (basically we got three old US comics in one volume every week, for about half the cost of one imported water damaged* US comic - happy days). Initially they led with Spiderman, but when that was given it's own comic they led with The Hulk. I never liked The Hulk, and it ruined the comic for me.

(*American comics sold in the UK in the 60s and 70s were usually "unsold returns" which were used as ballast in ships running from the US to Europe, so most were a bit water damaged.)

Puppy News

Remember Farty Raccoon? Remember how I said that the puppy had eaten Farty's fart box last weekend? Remember that as well as having a fart device in his tummy he also had a squeak device in his tail? Well this week the puppy has remembered the tail squeaker, and that it is still operable.

It squeaks when he bites it, and if he chews it, it squeaks repeatedly, so he sits on the floor going "Squeak, squeak, squeak, squeeeeeeeeeak, squeak."

He finds this a particularly good game to play when I am not available to play with him. For example - in the middle of the night when I am busy being asleep. He lies beside me on the bed with Farty raccoon going "Squeak, squeak, squeak, squeeeeeeeeeak, squeak."

Oh deep joy!
