Posting while I can
Yesterday, my cable modem went down for about an hour. This morning it went down at 10:30 and at 11:00 I tried calling Time Warner. It took 4 hours to get through. They tell me that there must be a problem with my modem since nobody else has complained. Remember, it took 4 hours of calling to get through. The cable guy just left saying that there are calls from all over with the same problem. At this moment, my cable modem is up but, the longest it's been up all day has been about 5 mins. The cable guy also told me that they were doing work at the station where fiber optics goes to coaxial cable. And he thinks something happened there.
Anyway, I have no email and since I use vonage, I have only my cell working. I'm posting now because I don't want anyone to think that I blew them off today because I either did not answer my email or answer my phone. |

that sucks mammoth balls, I wouldn't wish 4 hours on hold for my worst enemy.I had a similarly unfortunate occurence earlier this month.

10 am today exactly and my modem took a shit. On the phone now and they still will not admit a problem.

Finally, a tier 3 tech told me there was a fire yesterday at the station where fiber optics switch to cable. Today, they claim was just a fluke.

Fuck those tech guys. There was one here Tuesday night and he did nothing. So after yesterday being down all day and this morning being told that I had an all day appointment, I took matters in my own hand. I grabbed my modem, went to the cable company and got a new one. And guess what??? Here I am

The same computer running the same shit it had for over a year with no problems. I thanked them, shook my head in disbelief, then decided to wait a few days to see if my hunch about it being in their equipment would work? Sure enough two days later with this same computer that the techs told me was missing certain files/drivers their service returned to normal. So much for cable tech support ![]() |

They all suck Surfn. 3 days of phone calls, a tech coming to my house and it all ends up being the modem. To me, that would have been my first guess
