60% of $383.76 = $230.26
49% of $383.76 = $189.69
I had ZERO Credits/ Chargebacks/Cancel
(and WTF is a "discount" and why am I contributing to it?)

And before you ask, I can't even find a TOS anywhere in the program where it tells me that the 60% is after "Processing/ Credits/ Chargebacks/Cancel /Discounts"

Moral of the story: I don't have one (I'm just punchy from looking at how much money I'm supposed to be getting as opposed to how much I'm really getting)

Discount is easy to define:

Dis is a corruption of 'this', popular with American gangsters in the 1930's (at least in the movies).

Count is a corruption of "Cunt"

So in this case "discount" is used in the sense "Dis cunt has got my money".

Yep... I did that calculation a long time ago which is why I typically avoid 50% programs and require at least 60%.

Sounds like Deecash where they dont display the fact that if someone cancels - and they sell the subscriber on a lower package - Nats still reflects the rebill at full price but Dee only pays 60% of the "discounted" second try sale. Deecash has explained it is an inherent problem in the Nats reporting package???

I didn't want to throw anyone under the bus, but yes, it's Dee Cash.

I also complained that having the Join Report & the Revenue Report in 2 different tables makes it really hard to read & having the gross dollar amounts in the Revenue Report probably makes people think they are making a lot more than they really are (because there's only 3 or 4 people using NATS that have the stats displayed this stupid way)

Here's the actual reply I got when I asked about this a few months ago:

When people try to cancel we have a 24/7 support team ready to help them, either chat/email or phone,
Once they cancel we try and keep the members in at 9$ a month which the majority takes, of course 60% of this monthly fee you will be credited for,
The difference between the 24.95$ or 29.95$ membership and the 9$ membership will be put under discounts, which is in the same sector as processing/credits and chargebacks,
Rather than getting a chargeback, or full cancellation we try to keep them in
This way the processing fee looks higher than it really is, we are working with NATS to get this discounted membership shown in the STATS rather than show it under the processing fees

Make what you will of it

Of course this was from Aug last year so I guess NATs is having a little trouble with the coding on this one

If this was reported correctly, it would be a good thing, right?

Here is something I really don't understand. Why is it that when you look at the dollar numbers, they don't show you how much you are making? Why do they only show the raw number and then force you to do the math?

That's another thing - you can't accurately do the math. Sure, my totals show that it's 49%, but what if one site had a couple of those "discounts" - you can't tell which one it is & that throws off all your numbers.

I guess the version of NATS my guys have been running is new and improved. It seems to calculate any discount or special you want to throw in there.

You have to pay for all those giveaways somehow I guess.

I don't think it's that it's new & improved, it's more like "OHHH! Look! More bells & whistles! Let's not use the default settings so that we're different!"

In all fairness. I dont know how any program that uses NATS without access to a DBA on payroll or staff.

That script is way over my head.

It's usually difficult to tell whether these kinds of issues are the result of deliberate manipulation, or just the result of not knowing enough to set up NATS to report in a meaningful manner.

Assuming the later for the moment, the report may be great on the sponsor side of the admin, but the end result of that is a fucked up mess on the affiliate side of the report.

Just so it's not like I'm just bashing Dee Cash, these other wonderful programs have the same useless NATS Stats options turned on:
Jugg Cash
Jason & Alex
EuroRevenue

I have found a way around it - but I'm worried about posting it because the sponsors might then correct it

the real fun thing to watch is the processing fees - just for the fun of it I watched the stats earlier this period - the first rebill had a proc charge of .01 Then the next one had one of 3.37 etc etc

Throw Naughty America in there as well - they're not using NATS, but they have the same pointless method of showing you gross dollar amounts & letting you do the math

It always lets me down when I run through my stats and see one like that. At first I am excited when I see the dollar amount and then I scroll down and feel kind of screwed... Not very motivational from a submitters perspective...I would think the sponsors might want to change that.

I just want to know why they think that's a good way to display the dollar amounts.

I've been doing my stats for 5 years now & these 5 or 6 programs are the only ones that have EVER posted the gross dollar amounts (and it's just started recently - last few months)

Every other program shows you what YOU are making.

I'm to the point now where I'm dropping sponsors because their stats suck. I don't need this shit.

I didnt like that 60% BS - if you look at the true 60% and what you really get IMO it isnt worth having links mixed in with other PPS links or a true 50% sponsor on your LL

Dee Cash sent me this & I have to say it's lovely

This is the reply i got from NATS :

"I have enabled the default templates for your resellers. This reseller can now change his view by adding &_skin=0 on the end of any of the pages for your affiliate area. Thank you"

I'm not sure, but NATS did say that they restored the "default templates".

This got me to thinking. I don't send much to jason and alex, but I think my stats are even more messed up:

Gross Income: $104.85
Processing/Credits/Chargebacks: $-439.35
Your Split (10%): $54.42
Total: $54.42

Does that mean like the last 50 sales I made charged back or cancelled?

And why does it say my split is 10%? Strange.
