Sleepy Merry Daylight Savings Time Eve!

Morning!

Just when I was getting used to the sun actually coming up when I got up each morning, the higher-up powers-that-be (aka The Man) pulls this shit

Hiatus Thursday & Friday served their purpose, which was to conserve pain meds so that I could go out-and-about today with The Bitch. We're gonna spend the day together 1st up, The Buffalo Home Show, mostly because those basatards over at Groupon sent me a 2-for-1 admission offer. Then, we're going to dinner at one of the restaurants that we have a gift card for - I'm thinking of putting the 4 or 5 of them we have in a hat & picking one out. Secretly, I'm hoping we pick the Cold Stone gift card

I'm also hoping for a little Road Head

I love daylight savings time. Wish we were on it year round. If nothing else I just wish they would stop changing our clocks twice a year. We should just all use UTC time.

Personal taxes, Illustrator lessons (4 chapters to go), maybe get some work done, bike ride if the weather is nice (been nasty the last few days), grocery shopping and then tonight attending the going out of business New Moon event.

At least that is my plans so far.

To be safe, I always set my clock a random number of hours ahead, and add a few days to the calender

Good morning. We too are going to a home show today. Then later, we are seeing Manhattan Transfer. My brother sold the tickets to me after he and his wife decided that a holiday in Mexico was more fun.

Have a great day!

Exclamation Today Is An Important Anniversary

Today is 36 years to the day since the first episode of The Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy was fist broadcast (for those that still think it started with the books, or worse, with the movie - it started as a radio serial). To celebrate, one of our main radio stations has started re-broadcasting the series. I listened, and it is as good as it was thirty six years ago. I know much of it by heart, but it still made me laugh, particularly my favourite three lines from the first episode:

Ford: "It is an unpleasant feeling, rather like being drunk."
Arthur: "What is so unpleasant about being drunk?"
Ford: "Ask a glass of water!"

Wow, are they still going? I remember when they were the regular band on a British comedy TV sketch show, and that was decades ago!

Getting daylight savings all year round is easy. Simply set your alarm clock to an hour earlier each day. You don't need the government to tell you to get up earlier in the morning, you can just do it yourself!

There is a way round that too: Set your alarm clock to an hour later each day. Just because the government to tell you to get up earlier in the morning, you don't have to obey. Tell them to stuff it and spend an extra hour snoring!

Good Day

Doing a bit of work before a big family birthday party for my grandson. Well, big on my son-in-laws side so I get to feel out of place for 5 hours, joy.

Good evening,

19°C/66°F today so we got the warmest March 8th since the beginning of the measurements.
I had a nice week. Sat-Wed I was in NYC, got home on thursday and did 1 day of demolition on Friday. Spent a few hours working in the garden this afternoon and now it's time for some couch hanging. I could get used to weeks like this

Other than that I've got nothing.

What a day so far...

I have a friend who is a first responder and this morning she responded to a call for an oxygen explosion. Turns out it was some guy that tried to smoke a cigarette whilst on oxygen and his head exploded.

Then my female cat that got sick and took off a few days ago was found by a neighbor. Took her to the vet right away. (the cat not the neighbor) She has liver issues. $320 later I have a bunch of meds and special food to give her and another free visit tomorrow to the vet for more fluids. Vet is giving her a 30% chance of making it.

Was told to give her a bath so I did. Built a fire for her since she loves relaxing next to it.

I hope your cat beats the odds and lives on for years to come.

Thanks. She is still somewhat jaundice but much more alert today and seems to be doing a bit better so I'm hopeful.

Ahh yes, the good old fist broadcast!

I may have to search them out & listen to them. Of course, I've read the books, and probably should go back & re-read them, as I truly did love all of them

And I am "sad" with it. When the film came out I sat in the movie theatre watching it, holding a towel and eating salted peanuts!
