Really cool social media website I discovered today through another board.

The ZipperList - I am a new member and recommend the site highly for social networking needs. Its pretty damn cool actually. Its Like Craigslist Meets FaceBook Meets Twitter and Tumblr all rolled in to one. And you can make tons of custom blogs.

I will post back tomorrow. Its pretty new so expectations are low for this week. I really like the concept though. It seems to be created by PR people so I am not sure what the outcome will be. Postbots or real people.

What do you use to show traffic to a page? I posted an AD in the classifieds...will be curious if any responses.

Not getting paid loser. They give out points to be used for something I guess. In trade.

I used ref code to see if anyone actually signs up. You shouldn't sign up though. Really, site doesn't need you I am sure.

Which is ok, we are all webmasters so by definition we are looking to get paid...lol

Was just wondering if this was a post for an interesting new site, or you looking for monetary gain which in that case might be better off in the products and services section

As soon as I click on any menu item I get asked for my location, then only get news/forums/etc for my area. That kind of makes it useless. If I'm looking to the site to find a date with a woman, then fine, I probably want local. But nearly everyone wants forums where they can chat with everyone (note, for example, the number of different countries the people on this board come from, what use would GGB be if it was only for webmasters living in Washington DC). People also want world news, they don't just want to know what is going on down the road. And for selling/buying stuff - everyone buys internationally, only really big stuff, like fridge/freezers gets bought locally, for example in the last year I have bought stuff on eBay from Britain, USA, China, Australia, and a few European countries.

In short, "localisation" is so 1990's, I cannot see this site succeeding unless they expand their horizons.

Well everyone with a credit card and a brain. Different things are different prices in different countries. You save a small fortune if you source your purchases internationally. For example: Cheapest I have ever seen a new computer mouse going for in the UK is £3.99, I buy mine from China, the last one cost me £1.29 including international postage. Christmas decorations cost about half as much in the US as in the UK, again including postage. Or take computer games. Selling Japanese games in the US and Europe is big business as so many good Japanese games never make it out of the country.

In short - the world, my friend, is a small place. And only the small man buys just from his local mall.

I would be hard pressed to call that a social media website, I doubt any serious webmasters or adult marketeers would embrace it.
