26th May And It Is A "Storm Clouds Rising" Monday, As The Right Rises In Europe!

So I knew last Friday that Britain (In the European and Local council elections) had swung to the right, and not just the "Republican" right but the "drive out all foreigners, then kill all those who remain" right. This morning I wake to the news that it is not just Britain, most of Europe has veered to the extreme right. Some even more extreme than us. In France, for example, the National Front ("Extreme Nazi Party" in all but name) made sweeping gains.

Ironically, the only two countries not to show major extreme right wing swings are Germany and Italy. I guess they know first hand where this kind of fascism leads.

The only bright spark in the whole election business is that London broke with the pack and did not head down the "Only good foreigner is a dead foreigner" route politically. Seems that I live in one of the few intelligent parts of Europe at the moment.

But over all the news is bad. Storm clouds are again rising over Europe. Ah well, doctors tell me that there is a good possibility I'll be dead soon. For the first time I'm thinking that may not be such a bad option.

It's scary as hell, Ecchi, this is going the wrong way. The various attacks on Jews and immigrants around Europe, 22/7 and that fucker Breivik; I'm afraid this is the beginning on something truly ugly.
After seeing the British, French and other countries Right nut wing results in the EU election, our very blue goverment elected last year suddenly doesn't seem so bad, compared.

Other than that, nice to have such a lovely day as a birthday. Perfect sun, perfect temperature, good dinner coming up (I'm usually making the food in this house, today I'm being catered for :-)

I've had some creative days in my homestudio, but tomorrow I have to start look out for my sites again.

It's Memorial day here in te states. No mail, no banks, no stock market, but lots of retail sales.

Just another day of more of the same for me.

No holiday here in Canada. Not that it matters I'm sure I'd still working anyway just like I did last Monday when it was a day off lol.
