Changes to listed sites

This has probably been asked before but I can't find anything in the "new and improved, post-harddrive-mutiny" GG&J.

What's the general consensus on pages (mainly the front page, index.html or whatever) that get changed after they are listed. Do most of you guys run a bot and just delete anything that is changed? Do you look to see what was changed? Is it safe to add a counter if you forgot to when you built the site, or to change a recip if someone doesn't list you. Or changing ads or text to do a better marketing job.

Common sense tell's me that you chould be ok as long as your site still meets guidelines, but I know there are some cheatin' stealin' sob's out there that have made a lot of folks a little gunshy about that kind of stuff.
