A weird thing happened last night

Not for the faint of heart
I have had a lump just below my ass for about 10 years. It has been there so long that I no longer worried about it because it didn't change. So last night, laying in bed, I touched it. I noticed it was a little wet and pushed a little harder. I smelled the worst smell of my life. And when I looked at my hand, without exaggeration, I had a handful of puss. And DAMN...it smelled bad like rot. So, I kept squeezing and sure enough, I no longer have the lump

About 2 tablespoons of puss came out.

So, is it possible to have a zit that lasts for 10 years? My wife says it was probably a boil but, it seemed like a giant zit to me
