Need to know if Russian Bride sites convert? (or pay ;-)

Hi Guys,

How do the Russian bride sites work or convert for you? I am from America, but have been to Russia (We adopted from over there a few years ago) and that experience ROCKED! While at the airport in Moscow, there were hoards of horny American guys waiting to get their first introductions...

Now... That tells me that a large number of them go through the dating online phase, the pen pal phase, other bull, and eventually fly their happy butts to Russia for the real deal...

Laws of conversion metrics dictate that there is attrition at every level… (Like 1000 Clicks to 120 Free Trial signups to 18 Paid conversions).. So, I would guess that they have a fair amount of interest…

To check my hunch, I looked up anastasiaweb.com in alexa, and they had a rank of 6000 or so (Put into perspective, this kicks an insane amount of butt…)

That said… I am confident that these sites have INTEREST, and TRAFFIC… but I need to know if they get CONVERSIONS or if they generally pay well… or if they are a waste of time…

I spent some time in Eastern Europe and met a few guys that were doing the mail order thing. A few of these guys were some what open with the costs and my guess is that each guy was going to spend about $50k to get a wife with about $35 to $40k profit for these organizations.

What that tells me is these companies have to be making gobs of money from thier customers. I suspect they can certainly afford to pay. I've seen the sites advertised as what appear to be reputable web sites.

My gut tells me that they would pay.

My experience tells me that every thing converts with the proper traffic. I think the big question that you should be asking is "where does the potential customer hang out".

I know some guys are fools, but I would not count on to many to spend that large amount. There are so many foreign bride boards arounds that teach you to get the same results for less than 5k or 10k$.

I have no idea how honest these sites are at paying, however as to converting:

I have friends who have used this sort of service, one of whom spent a small fortune, married, then was divorced within a year and is now spending another fortune trying to find a "replacement". All of these guys spend a lot of time on the Internet, and I get the feeling from them and what they say about other guys they meet who are doing the same, that it is very much a "geek" thing, and so I would assume websites would be a good place to find new clients. (And it makes sense, the sort of person who uses this type of service is the sort of person who does not meet many women socially, which sums up many computer nerds perfectly.)

However I am assuming from the fact that you are posting here that you are talking about using porn sites. Most of the guys I know who use "get a bride from abroad" type sites will not visit a porn site, either because they think porn is wrong, or they are afraid it will leave a trail in their history that "someone" will find, or they believe that porn sites download viruses and/or diallers onto their computers (i.e. they are anal). So you may not find this so effective on on adult site.

But one thought I did have while typing this. One of my friends got a bride from Thailand, and there are apparently lots of agencies that find brides from this and other Asian countries. Would trying one of these and using it on an "Asian girls" type site be more effective, as the surfers have already shown a preference for Asian girls ?

I have posted this on a few other boards as well... The consensus is that some sites are legitimate, and if they have affiliate programs, are very good about paying.

Anyway, We will begin to include this as a part of our hosting packages through Myth Networks...
