How can people think like this
You may be aware that in Britain we currently have an unprecedentedly large number of celebrities facing prosecution for sexual offences against children in the 1970s and 1980s (because in the 1970s and early 1980s child rape cases were not well reported on, and a lot of victims felt that as their abuser was a "star" and they were a mere child, they would not be believed - but about a year ago a much loved TV presenter and DJ was found to be a serial molester, probably the most prolific child molester ever, and the publicity has meant that many people feel they will now be believed and so are reporting the incidents of assault by other celebrities of the time). Since most of these cases happened in the 1970s and 1980s most of the abusers who are being charged now are old men.
Yesterday a "human rights lawyer" published an online article about the situation. And I find it really hard to understand how a human being can have these views: She describes the arrest of these child molesters as "the persecution of old men” and calls tor the age of consent to be dropped to 13 to prevent the police charging people for “low-level misdemeanours”. As this person is a lawyer she is presumably an intelligent human being (although I use the term "human being" loosely). And yet she considers the rape of children a “low-level misdemeanour” and the prosecution of the bastards who do this as "the persecution of old men”! Where the fuck do these people come from, and why the fuck do we allow them oxygen? http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk...3-8608794.html |
