I've never had problems with them but after my friend's fiasco I'm not sorry that I'm moving my domains over to The Planet for $2.00 less.
well thats cheap. I use directnic for all my domains. like i said up top sis got this domain herself. Anyway I let a domain expire not knowing until the chat last week that it was worth something for trades. When I contacted directnic about getting it back (it is in the time frame for me to get it, its just sitting in the registar) I was sent a mail telling me I would have to pay $185 to get it out and then the $15 to re-register it. Or I could let it sit and die and then get it again, which at that point the age of the domain is wasted and just like I bought a new one. Well you live and learn. That wont be happening again..

In all she spent like $120.00 for the year with GD so if anyone can give her those goodies then I will have her move to you. Oh and I will need help with the transfer as I have never done one. I never had to. Thanks Jugg..
Most times with hosting, you do get what you pay for.

I'm started to worry about using GoDaddy! Should I be worried? I've got over 50 domains registered with them but hosting elsewhere. Is it time to worry? Even if I'm hosted elsewhere? I've used them about 2 years now.

RE: "Most times with hosting, you do get what you pay for." I disagree. Although the worst I host I have ever used was the cheapest, the second worst was the most expensive. And none of the hosts I have had that were in the top 25% price wise are as good as the main one I use now, which is in the mid range price.

However to put the cat amongst the pigeons: The way to get the best host is to look outside the USA. None of the American hosts I have used were as good as the best European ones, regardless of price.

Hosting and registrar have nothing to do with one another unless you register through your host.

RE "Hosting and registrar have nothing to do with one another unless you register through your host." GoDaddy do both domain registration and hosting (most registers do hosting as well).

GenXer - Yes I would worry. It does not matter who your host is, if the domain goes tits-up the DNS servers will not send the traffic to that host.

I agree Jim but im not the one paying. Sis is a cheap fuck. and worste part about it is she has money, lots of it. I guess thats how she keeps it. I have told her time and time again to spend a little money on the hosting and she will have no worrys. Well here we are on day 4 i think. I forget. All I know is I came home today after buying a boat and my caller ID had 6 calls from her but no messages. I checked the site and its still down. My advice to her was to just forget it and buy a new domain name and let me handle it. Well who knows maybe thats what all the phone calls were about, but seriously Im tried of getting them. Dam bitch needs to pay me to deal with this bullshit. Fucking Family, cant live with them and cant shoot them. Well not in the usa anyway.

It seems everytime I go to my account at godaddy I can not get in. There is always a problem with loging into my account and it takes an act of gawd to get any help.
I don't have that many domain names yet and it may be a good idea to transfer them when they are about to expire.
Can anyone tell me of a good reputable registrar? and how much crap should I expect to recieve from godaddy to have another registrar move my domains?
